Weird Nation

Nick from west Wales

I worked in Sully Hospital near Barry for several years when it was a psychiatric hospital.

Most of the wards had been closed years before and was very spooky especially at night.

One night me and two other members of staff heard a noise on the ward and assuming someone was out of bed me and a female member went to look in opposite directions.

Having found nothing I made my way back to the lounge when I saw a male nurse walking into the lounge.

I described this man to the third member of staff who had worked there for decades.

She confirmed to me that what I described was the old male orderly uniform and that the lounge years before been a six bedded ward.

So many of us experienced things there...
