Write about
Your Top Towns

Bridgend's Old Bridge

Last updated: 27 April 2006

Want to put your Top Town on the map? We're launching more guides to the major towns and cities in South East Wales and need your help.

We're especially keen to receive articles about these towns:

  • Abertillery
  • Blackwood
  • Ebbw Vale
  • Llantrisant
  • Tredegar

We're looking for short articles - around 300 to 400 words maximum, or half a page of paper - about your home town or nearest large town.

Tell us about its main attractions, what you like most about it, and be honest about its drawbacks.

You may be a local resident, an ex-pat, or the producer of a local website about the town. The best articles will be published here in the near future.

If your Top Town isn't listed above or already on our map, don't worry - write about any town in South East Wales and we'll consider it for inclusion.

As most of the towns are now covered, we're happy to consider articles about villages in South East Wales - we'll publish these in the relevant town or county site.

Send your articles as the text of an email to wales.southeast@bbc.co.uk with the words Top Towns in the subject line, followed by the name of the town - e.g. "Top Towns - Bridgend".

Be sure to include your name and contact details and, if you wish, the names of any local group or society you belong to.

See the articles on any of our existing Top Towns websites for an idea of what we're looking for.

If you're a keen photographer, we'd be delighted if you sent us some pictures to illustrate your article and other pages about your Top Town.

    Important information

  • Articles submitted must be your original work, not copied from books, magazines, newspapers or other sources.
  • Articles must not have previously appeared in print form, either in newspapers, magazines, books or on a website.
