My Pregnancy Life

By Kaylie

I was in my bathroom with my father for him to do the pregnancy test - the test came back positive. I asked my father the test said and he just looked at me and laughed, so then I found out.

I went straight downstairs and I cried to my mother, and she said "you stupid girl you're only 14, but you're going to keep it.''

My father called downstairs for my boyfriend Dean, and he went upstairs. I followed and my father told him and he nearly fainted. Then he justlooked at me and said "I got to have a bath."

I went down the doctor's the next day and the doctor told me I was nearly three months pregnant.

It's hard to remember anything else, but six months later I was in bed and I started having contractions. I woke my boyfriend up and told him, and he just went back to sleep.

I woke my mother up and told her and she said go back to bed. Then I was on my own and I was really scared. I started screaming at my mother. She woke up and made me a cup of tea and I had a fag. Then she walked me around two blocks of my area.

I went back to my house and I laid on my sofabed on my hands and knees and I said to my mother "I have either wet myself or my waters have broken."

My mother woke my father up and told him to watch me while she went up to get my gran and my cousin. When my gran came down, because my boyfriend wasn't up, she ran upstairs and ripped the blankets off him and said "she's in labour down there, so get up now!''

We were on the way down to the hospital, and when we got down there I had to walk up the stairs because the lift wasn't working. When I eventually got up there, my midwife was waiting for me.

I went in to the labour ward and they told me to lie on the bed and open my legs so they could tell me how far I was open. I was open 5cm wide, so I had to wait a little bit more before I could push. I asked for the gas andair and a glass of water and then I started pushing.

The baby wouldn't come out on my back so I had to lie on my side and he came out straight away. I was only one hour and seven minutes giving birth.

After I had him I named him Levi James and he's the best thing that's ever happened to me.
