Visit to the Assembly

Danielle Evans explains what happened when Teen Mams put their questions on schooling and social help to AMs Jane Davidson and Helen Mary Jones.
Read the questions and see how the AMs respondedWhen we arrived we all had to go through a security machine to check if anyone was carrying any weapons. After that, we were all given a pass to show that we were visiting the Assembly. We then went to sit down and waited for a man to come to show us around.
First we were shown the room where they all sit down in their different parties and discuss different matters that go on throughout the country.
We then went to the Pierhead Building just down the road. There was useful information on what the assembly is really like and what they do.
After that, we went back to the Assembly and had our meeting with Helen Mary Jones. We all asked our questions and Mo recorded it onto a tape.
The answers that Helen Mary Jones gave us were very useful. She seemed interested in our questions and had the answers that we wanted.
We then went to meet Jane Davidson. I found this meeting very boring because I thought that she was very forward. In the first meeting I felt at ease, but in the meeting with Jane I felt uneasy.
It seemed to me that Jane was so busy and so powerful she didn't have time to talk to us, or have time to listen to what we had to say. I think that the meeting was rushed because she didn't answer the questions in much detail.
We were all hungry, so we went to dinner in an American Food Bar. I had cheeseburger and chips - it was delicious. We had ice-cream for afters. After we ate our food we walked back to the car to go home.
I found the day out a little boring - things like politics don't interest me. The answers we were given were very helpful to us, so I'm glad I did go. The answers on the school questions were the ones I found the most interesting.
