Oh the old Rompney!! Rremember in the summer around 83-85 sitting outside with my dad and brothers on a warm summer evening with a glass of lemonade and packet of salt and vinegar. Also used to do penny for a guy here, made loads of money - probably cos they were all merry and didn't realise how much they were giving!! Happy days.

What a good pub the Rompney used to be I remember the winter of 63 which was a particularly bad one, we all made it somehow to the Rompney and went into the lounge where there used to be a large fireplace with a roaring log fire. You were freezing when you first went in and got as close to the fire as you could to warm up. After a few miniutes you joined the circle of punters around the fire. As the evening wore on the circle got bigger as more people crammed in.

I lived in Ty-fry road, and went to Caer Castell, 1962-1966. I remember meeting my first real date outside this pub. I came to Canada in 1975, but have made many trips back, and always go for a drink at the Rompney.

Between the ages of 5 & 10 (1960-65) I lived in Ty Mawr Road, Rumney, and went to Rumney Infants and Juniors. Every Sunday lunch time I had to walk round to the Rompney Castle to tell my Dad to come home for dinner. His name was Terry Chambers, I don't suppose anyone would remember him?
