Watch Jules's filmJules, who works for the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation, helped out with gardening, washing dishes and other duties at the Ty George Thomas Hospice in Whitchurch during his time out from a course run by the Thomson Foundation.
He said he sees voluntary work as a good way of getting to know a place, although the hospice was pleasantly surprised when he offered his services.
"They don't usually have overseas people volunteering - but for me it's a pleasure," said Jules.
