Valentine Poems

Rose

Here's a selection of poems to mark February 14th by the Newport Libraries Teenage Writing Group led by Cardiff-based writer and poet Lloyd Robson.

Triggers - by Chloe Kalter

She said this and ran,
I was alone again,
I felt my heart breaking.

Would I ever see her again?
I had shown her my heart
Yet she fled back to Germany.

It was cold again
I had loved and lost
No sun could shine in my heart

Although I was a mere child
I had had an adventure
A rocky ride with cupid.

The mountains, the town,
The river, the wall
& she was gone.
I was alone again.
