Rally legends and iconic rally cars spanning 70 years will take pride of place in the celebrations to mark the 75th Anniversary of Wales Rally GB which starts in Cardiff on Thursday 29 November.
Amongst the former winners making guest appearances during the rally are a trio of Finnish drivers; Rauno Aaltonen (1965), Pentti Airikkala (1989) and Juha Kankkunen - triple Rally GB winner (1987,1991 and 1993) and four-times World Rally Champion (1986/7, 1991 and 1993).
The Start ceremony will also include a tribute to the late Colin McRae, MBE, winner in 1994, 1995 and 1997 and World Rally Champion in 1995 (pictured above in his Subaru in 1995). Jimmy McRae, himself a five time British Rally Champion, will drive his son's car over the start ramp.
On Saturday 1 December a special indoor stage of the rally takes places inside the Millennium Stadium.
It'll be preceded by the Suzuki World Contest and a stunt driving display called The Millennium Job - featuring a team of Ford Fiestas and loosely based on hit movie The Italian Job.
To give an authentic winter-rally look to the Cardiff stage - the world's first indoor special stage - three artificial snow-making machines will provide falling snow in the area around the "Dragon's Mouth" - where the rally cars literally 'fly' into the stadium. In addition the perimeter of the stadium floor will be dressed to look like a snowbank.
"This year's Millennium Stadium event is set to be the best yet and will provide something for everyone," explained Andrew Coe, chief executive of Wales Rally GB.
"We are really excited about the schedule of entertainment and of course the stage itself will be spectacular. With the stadium roof closed, lights low, headlights beaming and snow falling the atmosphere will be incredible."
There'll also be attractions, entertainment, and a chance to see the entrants in Swansea at the new Wales Rally GB Service Park at SA1 Swansea Waterfront.
