Zoom TV

What do you get if you have 10 days, 15 young people, 4 cameras and 1 TV studio? Director Lisa Davies explains.

ZoomTV* was an hour long youth led, magazine style show broadcasting for 5 days from the 18-22 August 2008. Thanks to the Arts Council of Wales and the Atrium, Zoom were able to achieve the impossible and get ZoomTV up and running!

Working on ZoomTV In just the first two days of the project, the young people had already shot and edited a trailer before working their way through getting the 5 programmes ready.

Each programme had various items including the latest fashion, music reviews and some covering more serious news & current affairs.

Each young person had been allocated a specific role and received training from people working in the industry, like Iola Protheroe, a freelance floor manager who regularly works on BBC news and Lewis Vaughan Jones, a reporter from ITV Wales.

One of the ZoomTV team was Dale Jenkins, 16, from Bridgend:

"I've had a great time over the past few days, my confidence has increased already and I've made lots of new friends ... it will be an experience I'll never forget."
