Walking on the Past in Lavernock

Lavernock By Clive Holloway

Golden grains and siver shells
Walking soft footsteps that always tells
Sea's that roll and rub out history
Rocks and layers that give to mystery

Sea carved pavements lead to caves
Rinkles,crinkles made by waves
Patterns from the long lost ages
History not to be found in pages

Sun that warms from bright blue sky
Seagulls call from up on high
Views that show the hills and valley
Cliffs where nestles church and house and chalet

Age that marks the time in stone and bending bow
Leads to link the then and now
The softness of the gentle breeze that calms
Nature all around you older than the psalms

Think on this on mellow day
How time as used this place to play
Home for birds and colourful bush
Here time as slowed and will not rush.

Clive Holloway - Calne, Wiltshire - 2006
