Hedgehog

The hedgehog was about 15 cm long and appeared in good health, popping in and out of the undergrowth, occasionally stopping still when it realised it was being watched.

What do you think? How unusual is it to see a hedgehog in the daytime? Email wales.southeast@bbc.co.uk

Elizabeth A Williams, Cardiff
From every account I know, a hedgehog seen out during daylight, for any reason and in any apparent condition, should be considered an emergency. There are many websites on the subject - www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk has lots of specific and useful information. Please be informed!
