"I'm from Beechwood. I worked at the Monmouthshire Board Mill for a total of forty years. I started off in the dispatch department and I ended up as shift manager.
I've always been interested in local history. When I retired, I got involved with the Newport Local History Society.
I go out giving talks around the neighbourhood on points of interest around the town.
The postcards are all part of a collection that I've acquired. Mostly my son has bought them for me as presents and gifts. It's a collection that I've built up over a number of years. I am going to share twenty of them with you now."

Do you have any old photos of the Church Road area or Duckpool Road. I lived and was born in Church Road next to Palfreys the bucher. The house used to be a farm house - we had a well in the back yard and stables the chimmey sweep-milk man would take me out on the horse and cart when I was a boy. You are looking good Graham - just a little older.

What a lovely Selection of old photos of Newport as it was in the good happy days. A good variety of shops, nice cosy cafes, and the streets were clean as you walked on the pavement. Let's see some more good old photos.

Smashing pictures of old Newport, which I left in 1978. Any images of the Glasllwch and its Ridgeway - 'Little Switzerland' - area before the Second World War?
Dave Cox, Newport
Fantastic photographs - thank you. I've been telling my daughters about the old octopus bridge in Newport but cannot find a photo anywhere. Do you have a copy?
