Marsha tells us more about herself:
I have been living in Monmouth since the late 1990s. We arrived from Scotland with a baby and a toddler and immediately felt at home.
Monmouth, we discovered, was a wonderfully welcoming place. The town has an extraordinary history, great markets, architecture, facilities, surrounded by rolling countryside, and, most importantly, very friendly people.
I feel settled here. This is my home.
I've been involved with Monmouth's first Women's Festival and the BBC Digital Storytelling workshops at the Bridges Community Centre.
I am also a member of a Monmouth writer's group.
My background is in Anthropology. I travelled and worked around the world for four years, filling many different roles, from packing apples in New Zealand to teaching English in Japan.
Since having children I have concentrated on writing and research and aim to finish my first novel.
I love hearing people's stories and look forward to hearing many. I feel honoured to be Monmouth's correspondent and relish the challenges that lie ahead.
