I love walking my dog through 'Forest Fawr' up the winding lane from Castle Coch. Or next to Caerphilly pay as you go golf course. Its great for cyclists and horseriding and just a stroll. If your lucky you even get to see wildlife and may even find a golf ball or two. It's a beautiful pathed forest especially when the bluebells are in bloom. There is a disabled boy that I sometimes meet with his family who likes nothing more than to play in the mud and leaves. Who needs TV or expensive electronic games when we have nature.

Pontypool Park has some very good specimen trees, many well over 100 feet. There are a few remaining from when the park was first established in the early 1700s. It's well worth a walk around.

There is an old oak way way up by Graigwen in Pontypridd, on the track over to Glyncoch. Its girth is too large for me to measure and it stands on the edge of a small cliff, (so perhaps not advisable either). It must have been a sapling the day Ponty bridge was raised and it's stood guard over Ponty since then. What that tree must have seen over the years. Although I no longer live in Wales I often think of that tree and its history. May it look down on Ponty for many more years to come.

the wenallt is the best forest in south wales, especially when the bluebells are in flower.

I love the big old beech trees in the grounds of Bryngarw House. A walk there always lifts my spirits, and of course the trees in the Japanese garden are wonderful too.

A huge yew stands not far from my home, around 50ft tall and about 4 armspans around the trunk. This beautiful creation must be around a thousand years old, hidden in its glade of rowan only an hours' walk from the outskirts of Caerdydd. Every time I visit the Methuselah I can't help but bow my head in love and respect.

My favourite tree is the huge hollow oak in Crickhowell, a little way upstream from the main bridge. Its branches stoop low enough to the ground to climb up, the trunk is hollow and is roomy enough for about 5 adults to fit inside, and despite this, somehow its still in bloom every year!

There is the most fantastic Cork Tree in the grounds of St Fagans hidden away close to the Old Mill. It would suit a swing perfectly !!!!!!!!!!

My favourite tree has to be the oak tree in my fields.I spend many a summers afternoon relaxing in the branches and reading my Jackie Collins novels whilst the birds sing their lovely melodies to me.

There is a special tree along the Taff River that my love has carved my name in. For all eternity, it will be there. Our love will last as long.

I am indeed very lucky to be in the most outstanding beautiful place. I have panoramic views across the valley. No matter what season it is always a tapestry of colour.

I have many favourite trees in Cardiff, but think the outstanding one is the Japanese Paperbark Maple in Roath Rec pleasure gardens by the tennis court. Please bear in mind that while trees are tough, they do not enjoy having their bark hacked around, things hung off them and drawing pins stuck in their bark.
Jack from Cwmcarn
I love all sorts of trees from all over the country. I sit there all day and admire them.

I'm happy to admit that I've lived in my house in Whitchurch for 23 years. It's situated in the best location ever. I am very lucky as I live opposite the most beautiful wood. I feel so happy inside to see the trees waving at me when I glance through my window each morning. Whenever I'm down, I can rely on my tree friends to pick up their leaves and hug me.
Ron Griffiths from Llanelli
In my garden I have a tree that I call my 'Happy Tree'. Whenever I'm sad or lonely I'll sit under the eaves of my happy tree and sing songs. Sometimes if there's a breeze in the air the tree sings with me in its wispering tones! Silly as it sounds - after short while I feel much better and ready for anything! My 'Happy Tree' is one of my very dearest friends.
Trystan Males - Barry
In Barry, along Barry road, there is a tree so tall that it is visible from every part of town. A couple of cheeky rascals and myself decieded one day that it would be a good idea to climb this special tree to harvest conkers. We climbed and climbed until we reached the very top. We marvelled at the fantastic panoramic view from what seemed like space as the tree was easily 100ft tall. So engrossed was I in this feast of the eyes that I neglected my grip on the branches and before I knew it my joy turned to terror as I plumetted to my certain death! I screamed for Jesus as I crashed in the branches, bumping from one branch to the next and then black. I opened my eyes to see the worried faces of the chaps. "Are you okay Trystan?" Stan said. And to my astonishment I was. The tree today still stands next to the Spar. Tall and menacing, but loved by all - even me!!!
