Spillers Records was always my favourite Cardiff shop back in the 1980s. There was always some interesting LP that could be purchased there. Over the years, the LPs were of course replaced by CDs, and I was sad to hear of the recent announcement that the place may close. I still have many fine records in my collection purchased at Spillers: Led Zep I, Television - Marquee Moon, Bonzo Dog Band - Gorilla, Genesis - Foxtrot.

Blue Banana in Newport rocks cos it has a Green Day shrine.

Randomonium has just opened in Bridgend. It's fantastic. I found it on myspace.com/randomoniumshop. It's awesome.

As a larger than average lady I do most of my clothes shopping in Evans. But my friend and I travel around the charity shops for bargains. I collect pill boxes and bud vases and can usually find something I like. Also I can find some good books. I donate stuff too of course.
Cardiff
Blue Banana is rad, it's were people who are into the Rock\Metal\Punk scene can get the most awesome items to fit their personality. And their staff are really helpful too.
Sophie S, Newport
Blue Banana because it's amazing in there and the staff are helpful and always up for a chat.
James Eldridge
My favourite shops are Greggs cos the food is ace, Borders cos you can read mags and books for free, Blue Banana because it really is the best shop. The reasons for this are threefold. Firstly, it has got wicked skater stuff. Secondly, it stocks mosher clothes. Lastly, and most importantly, it sells wicked stuff.
sophie edwaeds, Newport
I think Blue Banana is the best shop in the world because its got wicked skater and mosher clothes and wicked stuff in there and the staff are really nice 2 me and think i'm cool because im a 11 year old mosher and skater !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even with the main centre, with thousands of huge designer stores (and soon to be one MASSIVE primark as well) my heart belongs to Albany Road, any charity-hunters dream, specifically the Save The Children shop there. Its pretty new, but its trying to completely change the image of what a charity shop has to be, and that has got to be respected.
catherine b from newport
my fave shop is select and primark, because even though i sound like a right cheapskate i think there is some great stuff in there for the money.
Chloe from Newport
My favourite shop has to be blue banana in newport it has great stuff in there and the staff are really helpfull

Hannah + Anna from caerffili

Lisa Evans Swansea
My favourite shop in Swansea has to be Blue Banana. The staff are so helpful and supply great service. Plus they are the only shop in Swansea that sell a pair of surgical steel plugs for less than £5.00 so if you need plugs check it out. They sell great gifts that are ideal for the more punky emo goth - or whatever you want to say people - such as great studded belts, great clothing and shoes. There is also a piercing parlour. Seriously, you will find things there you never thought existed so check it out! It's next to claire's accessories so go bananas!
Kate Gregory from Cardif
The Save the Children @ Albany Road Shop is brilliant. It really doesn't look like a charity shop in or outside! The fair trade coffee and the computer are really good idea to promote the charity. It's fantastic!
Hayley Foley, bridgend
it has to be izzit accessories in bridgend. They sell all kinds of accessories at reasonable prices. Lets hope they open more in other towns so you can understand what im raving on about!
Dan Brown, Roath, Cardiff
The fantastic new Save the Children At Albany Road shop that has just opened in Cardiff as it is a concept shop aimed at at students rather than just being an ordinary charity shop, so is a lot different from the rest. It has a funky uplifting design and stocks lots of great clothes and books. It also has a fair trade coffee machine and a set of record decks so people can come in and have a go at being a DJ. It's a great place for anyone to shop and also for anyone who volunteers there. Everyone who comes in loves it!
lauren, cwmcarn

Leonard Poore from Cardiff
My favourite store is Halfords.
Angharad Davies
I like Anne Summers - I get all my toys and underwear from there and so does my mate Kate. Great prices and thats it.
Kate B from Bridgend
I think the best are Newlook, and the Jungle in Bridgend.
Victor from Narberth
Vana Furniture in City Road, Cardiff is the best place in South Wales to buy the best designer furniture and lighting. This is unique - a must see.
Paul Simmons from Rogerstone
My favouite shop is Argos, it's simply fantastic. The household goods are great value but the jewellery in the Elizabeth Duke section is second to none. Both my self and my wife get all our 'bling' and 'ice' from the 'Libby Duke' counter, and when I got my first ring with 'Number 1 Dad' on it, it brough a tear to my eye and I wear it with such pride. I have looked around to try to see if i can better Argos but even the tv shopping channels can't beat it on choice and value. I love the admiring looks I get from people as they see me with my various gold and silver rings and chains on. Plus my wifes cubic zirconia set is always being mistaken for diamonds.
Andrew Jenkins from Newbridge
I believe the best shops around without a shadow of a doubt are Poundland and Hyper Value. Everyone seems to think these are cheap and tacky shops but they don't realise the bargains they are missing out on. I once bought a dressing-gown from there for a pound (yes a pound)!!! and it looks like designer. Everybody keeps asking where I got my stunning gown from - I just tell them it's designer (how i laugh),but it makes me look cool though. The Kitchenalia stuff they have there are out of this world too - so go check it out everybody.
Marios Dixon, Barry
I believe the best shops in Wales are Wilkinson, they are truely great for bargain DIY jobs wich i love to do in my spare time. I'm going to 'trim' my house this festive season with their quality and vast choice of Christmas trimmings. A one stop shop for all your house hold needs
John Duguid
Are those grand old institutions Howells and David Morgan still in business on St Mary Street?
BBC News - David Morgan sold for £29m
Sarah Griffiths from North Wales
I think the best shop in Wales is New Look, because you get all your nice clothes from there. It's well ace.
George from Caerphilly
My fav place is definitely Catapult Records in Cardiff. The DJ in there is fab (plays regularly in the Welsh Club) so he can really help you pick out some top tunes!
Ron Griffiths from Llanelli
My fav shop in town is Eccentrix - due to the fact that I work in Minskis as as drag artist every other Saturday. You can find some fantastic high- heeled stilettos in there - rather difficult to walk on though. Seriously though girls - if you're after some nice shoes for your next night out - Eccentrix is the place. My entire collection is from there.
Trystan Males
Hi all! My top shop on the block has got to be the Blue Banana near the library in Cardiff. I can always find a new wacky stud for my (pot!) belly
Catherine Hatcher from Barry
I love Greggs - I say it again - I love Greggs. How many places do you know where you can get a great meal for less than a pound and it's served in quicktime. Try the Welsh cakes with jam - they are perfect - they are perfect with a cup of tea - compliment each other well.
Shabnum Miah from Cardiff
My favorite shop is ToysRus - When visiting recently to purchase a new pram for my daughter, I went to the check-out and a member of staff risked her job to tell me that this same pram was going on offer next week for much less than original price. So I did not purchase pram on the day and true to her word it went down in price next week. I am very thankful to that member of staff and will shop there for all my children's toys in future. Good customer service and polite mannered staff.
Marcus Dancey from Barry
My favourite place in the whole wide world is Spillers Records in Cardiff. It's not only the oldest LP shop in country but in my opinion the best! It's got everything you could ever want musically. Nearly all of my 1500 CDs have been purchased from the friendly staff at Spillers from my huge classic & new Metal collection to my beloved Bjork (genius) & Beatles (unrivalled collective genius) albums. I don't know what I would do without that place!!! Save a lot of money probs!!!
Rachel Meyer from Canton
I like shopping at Primarks in Cardiff - I always find a bargain and always come out with change in my purse. This cheers me up as I only have a low income - most people are snobbish about shopping in low key shops, I am not. Primarks has a lot of modern and fashionable clothing which I am happy wearing. Staff are very helpful and courteous at all times.
Emma Jones, Porthcawl
The best place to pick up a bargain in South Wales is the Tenovus Cancer Charity shop on Cowbridge High Street. My mum is the shop manager and has a fantastic eye for detail - she tirelessly sieves through the bags of donations in search of gems, you can regularly find antiques, designer fashions..well almost anything. Her eye catching window displays are always fun, and the fashions have even been featured in the South Wales Echo. Ask the locals...I saw Neil Kinnock in there once!
