Merthyr mountain is my fave romantic place. I go up there frequently with my girl having picnics and strolling hand in hand, watching the fireflies swirling around us. Heaven...!

Gwaelod y Garth.
A beautiful little village on the outskirts of the city where me and my man have made our home.

Parc penallta near Ystrad Mynach is truly beautiful - for a spectacular 360 degree sunset any time of year (clouds permitting) and (if you can find them) the view from Ystrad rocks is incredible.
PP..... a long way away
There is a special mountain which overlooks the valleys of Merthyr and Aberfan. Times were shared there with a special someone. You feel like you are on top of the world up there. Walking..holding hands and gazing into the love of my life's eyes. I yearn to be back there with you JD.

I think the cliff at Barry Beach is the most romantic place around Cardiff. You can sit there for hours gazing at sea and appreciating nature - it's awesome!!

Often I wander to the top of the Golden Steps at Porthkerry Country Park nr Barry and enjoy the views of endless fields and trees in the distance. I often do a little twirl because it makes me feel like Julie Andrews from The Sounds Of Music, and a happy good feeling is to be had by all. Worth a visit in my books.

I love to walk on top of the Gollers near the Gaer in Newport. It's right in the middle of a busy road system and it's so quiet and peaceful up there. You can sit and watch the world go by.

The river at Symonds Yat East on a hot summer's day. Canoeing down the cool river with my boyfriend was the perfect way to forget about work. Very romantic.

I love to stroll hand in hand with a lucky lady along the banks of Roath Park Lake. Being a pro golfer, I enjoy the outdoor life and there is no better sight than this - the ducks are quacking and the girl's hair flowing. More romantic than watching Top Gun JUST!

Whenever I'm feeling down or unloved I know that there is always one place I can count on for release. This is my second home, the Wenallt near Caerphilly. I prefer this destination by night, as the views more beautiful and the people more friendly.

The rocks up bluebell mountain. Fantastic views to share with the one you love.

Penarth Marina, so romantic, full of love and lust.
David Leyshon from Pontypridd
The roof of the British Gas building - although dangerous the view is amazing and quite romantic.

Walking hand in hand along the beach at Porthcawl, at night, is one of the most romantic things I've experienced. The sound of the waves crashing in and the glimmer of white foam on the shore, along with the crisp, clean air cannot be matched. You can't help but fall in love all over again with each other when you are there.

The Blue pool in Ystradfellte - it's set at the entrance to a grassy meadow that the river runs through. The pool itself is so deep as it runs out from under the mountain, that the water looks blue. Above it are huge smooth rocks that are just perfect to sit on and snuggle up to that special someone at any time of the year.

Castell Coch - a fairy castle - very tranquil and looks so pretty in the night when it is lit up.
Matthew Childs in Wroclaw, Poland
Morlais Castle, Merthyr - the peace and tranquility of this place is so special, the views of Merthyr and the Brecon Beacons breathtaking. It's somewhere you can just sit and stare for hours in each other's arms!!!
Nic in Rhiwbina, Cardiff
The Sgwd-yr-Eira falls near Ystradfellte - I proposed to my wife behind the falls - it was so loud and I was bent on one knee, that I had her ask her twice before I heard her answer! It was Yes!
Jane Dyer in London
Llanthony Abbey near Abergavenny - it's so tranquil and set in an incredibly beautiful setting....perfect for romantic walks, and there is a hotel for cosy nights. It's the sort of place exiled Welsh people like me dream about.
Jennifer from Nantymoel
Pink/Sker Bay in Porthcawl is my favourite romantic spot. There are a couple of places where you can snuggle up with your favourite person and watch the sun set and the stars twinkle in the sky.
Richard Jones from Portsmouth
Nash Point - the coast path east towards Atlantic College is well worth a romantic stroll after lunch for two in the excellent Plough and Harrow...the soaring edifice of the lighthouse and the deep roar of the thunderous fog horn certainly makes the earth move.
