If I was an AM for the day, I'd change the Ashy in to a go-carting place or just somewhere where people can socialise.

It's a massive place, and you could do so much with it. It's a shame to waste it.

It's a place which is empty where people walk through to get to Barry Island. Everyone goes there on quad bikes.

There's nothing there, and people go down there and make trouble, or do drugs or whatever. It's a huge area but they haven't got nothing down there for us kids.

There's load of hills, so I'd do a skate park or may be a go-carting area. Barry Island isn't open in the winter, so it's boring down there. Maybe if it was open in the winter, people would go down there more.

It'd stop people from causing trouble down there and making a mess, and doing drugs.

It's a massive place, and you could do so much with it. It's a shame to waste it really.

You could do four go-carting places - that's how big it is, but no-one wants to do it. I think there's so much rubbish down there that people have given up on it.

I think these short films are great, they make you stop and think and take a look around you at the state of disrepair that Barry is actually in. I hope this raises awareness and hopefully something can be done about these issues. Well done to all involved with this project and the photos are fab!

Virginia, Barry Island
It's great to see young people comment, but your ideas need to be thought through a bit more. The island is closed in the winter because nobody spends money at that time of the year. Think about it. How can shops afford to pay staff, gas and electricity bills if nobody spends money? As for the go karts, think about how the noise travels. I agree, it needs tidying up, but I use it everyday and I have never bumped into a drug user!
