If I were an AM for the day I would change Barry Knap skate park.

There's a lot of people who like to skate in Barry. It's something to do rather than hanging around and causing trouble.

Chris

You can't really use the skate park any more because the ramps weren't very well built. They're really old as well - I think they must be going back some eight years.

It's not much fun really when you're skating down there. A lot of people prefer to leave the skate park and skate on the top on the smooth area, and people have ended up building their own rails.

First of all I'd get the concrete really smooth, and I'd get rid of the bumps at the bottom of the ramps.

The ramps are too steep to go up. I think they've been built wrong. I'd make them a bit more usable and change the material of the ramp as well. It's metal, and it rusts, and it slides. You can sometimes slip, and it's dangerous.

There's a lot of people who like to skate in Barry. It's something to do rather than hanging around in your house or causing trouble. You just go down there and have a good time.

I think these short films are great, they make you stop and think and take a look around you at the state of disrepair that Barry is actually in. I hope this raises awareness and hopefully something can be done about these issues. Well done to all involved with this project and the photos are fab!

Lisa from Cardiff
Fantastic pictures! Love the one with the skating on the pole thing - very cool!
