Best advice: Think about your aims. Once you notice the weight loss, it starts to get easier.

I was fed up trying to find clothes to fit me so in May 2003 I started slowly doing some strength training.

I was so unfit that I couldn't even think about doing any cardiovascular work. A five minute run would kill me!

I was determined to carry on and to lose weight so I moved on to using the cross-trainer six times a week. I ate more healthily too and lost a stone in nine weeks.

I wasn't working at the time so I really focused on training and committed to a regular health programme at the gym.

I felt better and had more energy so was more motivated to continue. I was sensible - no drastic diet just eating sensibly.

A grilling machine made a huge difference to my eating habits and really worked.

I'm so motivated now and proof that doing it this way really works!

4 stone!!! Blimey thats dedication for you!!! Good for you Thomas - I hope you have inspired others like you have inspired me. I haven't got 4 stone to lose so it should be easier for me. Keep up the good work and keep your heart healthy.

I think it's wonderful that it worked for him. I am 31 and have been trying to lose weight for about 8 years and I'm not getting anywhere with it. So I take my hat off to him - well done boy.

Well done. That's a brilliant and effective method of loosing weight. Keep it up.

I would really like to be able to lose weight. My main problem, that no one can help with, is my legs. I go dancing five times a week, but the rest of the time I have to elevate my legs to be able to do this. I have medication - paroven. Also I am 71 - but not using this as an excuse. I go to the local Rosemary Conley class and keep up with the others. Don't know what else to do. I am 2 stone overweight and feel that if I could lose weight it would help my legs...catch 22. Would be willing to go to a fat farm for help.
