Oscar-winning actress Faye Dunaway plays a one-armed detective in a Welsh budget horror movie called Flick, released in October 2008.
Written and directed by David Howard, it tells the story of Memphis cop Lieutenant McKenzie who is called in to investigate a series of strange deaths and weird sightings.
It follows the resurrection of a local boy who was murdered in 1950s and returns to life in modern times to seek his teenage sweetheart and avenge his death.
The movie also stars Julia Foster, Liz Smith, Mark Benton and Michelle Ryan, plus well-known Welsh actors including Boyd Clack and Brian Hibbard.
Much of the filming took place in Pontypool, Newbridge and Cardiff in January 2007 with local people appearing as extras, many as dancers in a 1950s rock'n'roll party staged at the Newbridge Memo.
Flick will be given a Welsh premiere on Friday 28 November at Cineworld Cardiff as part of the Soundtrack Film and Music Festival*

Great experience being in the 1950s dance hall scene - hair, make-up, costumes etc - and seeing how things are actually filmed. All I need to do now is actually find out how to see the film!

I was there with the rest of my class at Coleg Glan Hafren. We were extras in the film as we were studying performing arts they asked us to turn up for the two days. It was really fun and was a good experience - unfortunately none of us knew about the premiere in Cardiff. The only reason I found this page was because I was wondering when it was going to be out - gutted we missed it:(

I walked into Ms Dunaway et al in the middle of town. Didn't realise till after. We were quite excited at the mock-up record shop until we found it was just a film prop.

Going to the premiere in Cardiff - my daughter Andrea Fletcher hopefully won't be on the cutting room floor. She served Faye Dunaway coffee in the film. We're all very proud of her and available for further roles.

Faye Dunaway and Mark Benton filmed a couple of scenes in my cafe in Pontypool. Ms Dunaway was Hollywood through and through whilst Mr Benton was very amusing. I wouldn't have the patience to work with a "star". I'm happy I was left with a few souvenirs!

I kept the old cars running in a night shoot in Port Talbot. The local police gave chase to the ghost car thinking it had been stolen. Rik nearly got nicked! Hope they have an outtake, makes great watching and thank you to all the gathered crowd that clapped when the car expired and we managed to get it going again. Nice one, Rik.
