Ebbw Valley Railway

Passenger train services have returned to Ebbw Vale and Newbridge for the first time in more than forty five years

The new Ebbw Valley Railway service opened to passengers on Wednesday 6 February 2008.

An hourly service (two hourly on Sunday) each way between Ebbw Vale and Cardiff Central is currently serving the following stations:

Future plans include a station at Crosskeys, extensions of the line to Ebbw Vale town centre and Newport, plus a branch to Abertillery.

The line has been reopened as part of a package of economic regeneration measures following the closure of the steelworks.
