For episode one both the interior Tardis set and that of the Tyler flat, home to Jackie and Rose, were built inside this huge space.
The exterior of the flats was actually filmed in London, so when building the inside in Newport the shapes and views from the window all have to match up.
Step inside the front door - complete with cat flap...
... and you'll find Rose's bedroom where one of the very first scene's of the new series begins.
