Due to popular demand this exhibition dedicated to the BBC's cult sci-fi series will remain open indefinitely.
Doctor Who Up Close was launched at the Red Dragon Centre, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff Bay, in 2005 to help celebrate Cardiff's golden jubilee as the capital of Wales.
The exhibition celebrates the success of the Doctor Who series filmed around Cardiff and south Wales with an exclusive look behind-the-scenes.
It links into areas such as modern story-telling, script-writing, acting, costume design, sound and music, special effects, set construction and creative thinking.
On entering, visitors are surrounded by a retrospective, outlining the 40-year lineage of the series and have the opportunity to view the previous incarnations of the Doctors.
The attractions include the Doctor's arch enemies, the Daleks, in both their modern form and a unique example of their original 1960s design, as well as elements focusing on many other classic characters.
Explanatory graphics highlight the filming and production of Doctor Who in and around Cardiff and south Wales, together with comments from the production crew and location photographs.
