Dear Rose,
How is Azerbaijan? I haven't written to you in a while. I've been busy.
But now I have found the words to describe how I feel.
Before these words meant nothing. I tried to express myself, but I got angry and frustrated.
Everyone sounded like broken tapes.
But I was young and my brain was functioning. I learnt fast.
Before I knew only how to say 'yes', 'no' and 'I love you'. But these words were not enough - I needed more.
Then I learnt through facial expressions. I could tell how my friends were feeling, if they were sad or happy.
Finally, I learnt through patience and friendliness and my friends screaming in my ear.
I feel clever and intelligent that I can speak this foreign language which has now become my own.
It now feels as though I was born speaking English.
It feels natural to my brain and my mouth has got used to speaking it.
So I leave you with these words.
Samra

Congratulations Rose, you have achieved so much, I still struggle with learning a foreign language even after a few years study. My tongue will not go where it is supposed to and even when I think I have mastered a simple sentence people look at me in bewilderment. I think it must be an age thing. I understand the frustrations you went through so well done and best wishes for your obviously successful future.
