Dear friends,I now live in a nice place called Cardiff with nice people.
There are lots of houses, and big buildings, and pigeons flying here and there.
But there is one place that I really like here called Cardiff Castle.
The first time I went there it was spectacular.
I went in to the castle, and it was like I went back in time to when Saint David slain the Welsh dragon like a modern day martial arts man.
I also saw some peacocks. When they opened their feathers it was like they were watching everything.
When I went inside the castle I felt like the King of Wales, but when I went into the smelly toilets I did not feel like the King anymore. It was just a hole in the ground, and I didn't know how the King could go there.
Still, the castle is a beautiful place to go.

I love the Castle and the Castle grounds. We used to play rugby at Blackweir and walk through the grounds into town for a sarsparilla after games. In spring, the daffodils were (are still, I hope) wonderful. Sometimes in summer my mum would arrange for all the family to meet after school and work fo us to have a picnic in the Castle grounds. Absolutely wonderful; peace in the middle of the City. Occasionally, I would walk home from town to home (Heath) through the Castle grounds, Blackweir, Llandaff Fields, past the Hospital and into Heath Park - greenery almost all the way. Not many places where you can do that. Oh, I do so miss Cardiff!

I lived in Merthyr for 2 years and was able to visit Cardiff Castle with my 2 children & husband. Now I live in Baltimore but was so glad my children saw the Cardiff Castle. So far I havent seen an ancient castle here in USA. Now I have a son and I am planning to show Cardiff Castle when he grows up.
See you then by God's grace.

I was a student of the Cardiff College of Music and Drama in the fifties which was situated then in Cardiff castle. My piano lessons were in studio, which is now the refurbished banqueting hall, and my singing lessons were in the Arabian room - quite a climb up. An inspiring venue for my college years. I live now in Vancouver where any building over a 100 years is considered a heritage building!

The castle is beautiful and I'm so glad you liked it. We do have some gorgeous castles in Wales as well as some other great historical places. I hope you get the chance to visit some of the other places soon, and that you always feel like King!!! X
