The Family Man

Andrew Mackie

Listen to Andrew (Need help?)

We've lived here for twelve years. It's a nice area and nice people round here. I don't think it matters where you live today really. It's no different to Llanrumney or Grangetown. I've got family all over Cardiff and it's no different really.

The only thing that I think we really need is a leisure centre. There's not enough to do for the kids here. There's plenty of houses going up, but nothing really for the kids. Nearest leisure centre is three miles away and there's no bus route to get there.

In the summer it's not bad, because they've got nice little closes to play football in, and the school's pretty good. But in the winter, there's nothing here for 'em and they get a bit bored. Maybe the older ones do a bit of damage. That's what we need, an activity of some sort round here for the kids.

Mike from St Mellons
St Mellons is a nice area, but I do think there is loads of things children could do. It is up to the parents to help/fund/travel - I'm fed up with excuses.
