There once was a Cardiff without a bay,
With pessimistic mourners who used to say,
Dont build that barrage it's no good to us,
And every day they kicked up a fuss,
They said the waters would rise
They said the flies would be rife,
How the hell do expect us
To get on with our life
The birds up above will fall from the sky
Without their feeding ground they will surely die
Where are these mourning minie's today
We ignored their plea's and built the bay
The final result is for all to see
Is a much better life for you and me
For throughout this land of hills and dales
Cardiff now is the best in Wales.
