I have been involved with different film and video projects for about two years.
I am a volunteer tutor with the Breaking Barriers Digital Storytelling project and Inside Out, a group for people with mental health issues.
I have always been a person with a story to tell and enjoy telling my tales of challenge and adventure to anyone who is prepared to listen.
Completing my first film was unbelievable, unlocking a treasured memory.
And being able to share it visually with others made it come alive again. This gave my story a sense of value and self-worth.
I soon began to realise the huge potential this could have in promoting social inclusion and equality.
I now work with individuals and community groups to explore the best ways to tell their stories and produce their films - helping people learn new skills, to find their voice and have their voices heard.
Some films are made in a few weeks, some in a few months, others have taken as long as a year to complete.
But this doesn't really matter - what's important is that we work to individual need and find the best ways to meet those needs.
Over the last two years I have seen feelings of exclusion and isolation change into feelings of self-worth, self-expression and a sense of belonging.
I would like to see these opportunities be made accessible to all and believe PiXilVISION can help make this more achievable through the Stiwt TV project at Blackwood Miners Institute.
This is a unique way for ordinary people to show their work to the public, finding ways for us to celebrate our differences and share stories and goals of everyday life.
