"I had a retrospective exhibition of my work at the Newport Museum and Art Gallery in April 2006.
"Included in the exhibition were two large triptychs depicting the poem of Idris Davies from Rhymney titled 'The Roses of the Sky'.
"The two large paintings however show a direct relationship with with the Aberfan Disaster 1966 and are titled 'The deepest shade, the saddest shade of blue' and 'A Lost Generation'.
"Both works use Davies's poem to interpret the tragedy at that time.
"The Roses triptychs are an attempt to convey, by their size, their imagery and content a sense of loss - A Lost Generation - directly referring to the Aberfan tragedy, when years later one can only reflect and remain a bystander.
"If it is at all possible I would like to see these works displayed and housed to contribute to the commemoration of the Aberfan Disaster."
