Listen to Simon(Need help?)
I work at the box office in the Coliseum Theatre in Aberdare. I've been working here eleven years.
Since that time the theatre's gone from strength to strength. We've had extensions, redevelopments, all the bigger shows coming in now. It's really starting to take off.
In March, we've got Ricki Tomlinson coming here, Elkie Brookes here in April. We've still got our amateur shows coming in and big pantos.
It's mainly the local audiences but we're starting to get audiences from outside the Cardiff area. We've even had people from America come here to see certain shows.
We have local amateur dramatic societies that come here on a regular basis - the ? stars and the Cynon Valley Music Society and showcase.
The job's great. It's really great sitting here in the box office. People come in day after day, sometimes for a chat, and sometimes to buy tickets. They appreciate the theatre I think.
That's the best part of the job. It's not meeting the great celebrities or anything like that. It's knowing that you're servicing the audience that we've got here in Aberdare and also outside now.

We're making some changes to the sites shortly and although this form will be closing, you will have other opportunities to contribute on our new-look site.

The amateur society that Simon refers to are the Colstars, still going strong in their 60th year.
