I've lived in Aberdare for twelve years. I was living in Penderyn before that. Aberdare is clean, tidy, quiet and I like living here.
My dog's name is Poppy. She's lovely. She sleeps with the master on the settee downstairs. She sleeps on his shoulder, puts her head on his shoulder and goes to sleep. She's fourteen years old and she's deaf.
I like to walk the dog up the country park, call in for a coffee outside and have a jacket potato.
I meet a lot of dog walkers up there. I always say hello to people and there's water outside for the dogs to have. You can go down to Aberaman walking down the line, and then you go up the country park the other way.

Sian - thank you for sounding so Aberdare and Welsh. You are a celebrity here in Takahashi, Western Japan. Your "Jacket Potato-oooooo" is now a catch phrase amongst my friends (Australian, Kiwi and American). When I want to explain my fading accent I point them straight to your audioclip.

I agree Rod. I have also been a victim of dog fowling. I am fed up scrubbing the pavement outside my house. I was walking down Green Street last week & watched a well dressed woman let her dog mess all over the path. I was too far away or I would have told her off. Also the cut behind the Coop Funeral place is disgusting! The muck, junk & not to mention the dogs mess!

you got to be joking ,the amount of dog fowl in the gadlys area of aberdare is beyond.i had dogs mess outside my front door ,while i was dressed up to go to a charity do ,had to go back in to change my shoes ,aberdare is well known for the behaviour of irresponsible dog owners letting their animals fowl everywhere.
