I've lived in Aberdare for twenty five years. It's a very close village. I'm a youth project worker and I'm the outdoor adventure coordinator for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
I work about thirty hours a week with young people. The negative part about Aberdare is the lack of cooperation towards young people.
I'd like Aberdare to change in the job sector, and I'd like more places of employment brought to Aberdare instead of taken away.

I was born in Monk Street, went to school in Foundry Town and Gadlys Central. World War Two and the navy took me away from the valley and eventually to the US. It was tough in those days but we never asked "what's being done for young people". We made our entertainment without iPods and I never heard of anyone being knifed or mugged.
Too much time and money?

I agree with this. I think there needs to be an increase in jobs throughout the Cynon valley and in the RCT.

About time someone took an interest into keeping the youths occupied in Aberdare!! - Tell me, do you have to be a kid at heart to understand the needs of the kids today?? Keep up the good work!!
