Now bustling with busy shoppers, this spot marks the place where boats on the Glamorgan Canal were once weighed. The weighing machine is now based at the Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum in Northamptonshire. Before becoming Cardiff's commerical centre, Queen Street was known as Crockerton (or Crockherbtown in the mid 19th century) and and was a popular suburb for the city's fashionable elite.
