oy! i cant see how matthew peacock is being racist by saying that being a welsh international will hold him back? im welsh born in cardiff and have lived here most of my life and i concede that ian rush, mark hughes and ryan giggs have been held back career-wise by being welsh internationals and therefore being deprived of performing in european championships and world cups.i mean liverpool juventus barcelona bayern munich chelsea and manchester united are a few of the world class club sides that these marvellous players have played for, so it is a crying shame that they were never given the chance to perform at the highest level due to the previous mediocrity of the welsh national sides.
hopefully the new breed of welsh stars like earnie danny gabbidon and james collins will go on to rectify the underachievements of their international predecessors...until then matthew peacock is right surely that being a welsh international hinders footballing development?
