He showed he was destined for stardom when he appeared on BBC Wales TV as a 14-year-old (left). Jamie sang live during coverage of the 1999 Children In Need appeal and was later interviewed about his ambitions. His chance came in autumn 2002 with Popstars: The Rivals in which ten winners - five male, five female - were chosen to form rival bands.
