MMM, I know I shouldn't say it, but he's so yummy! I really hope things last between him & Alice Evans. All the very best.

I'm a Welsh/Italian, born in Aberdare in 1955, with lots of childhood memories, back to Italy with all the family in 1970. I have cousins living in Aberdare, Benedictus. It's great to know that Ioan Gruffudd is a Welsh valley mine treasure to admire for the coming years. WELL DONE IOAN..
Emmha from Philippines
He is really charming ... aside from his good looks, he has the talent. I really wish I can meet him personaly (more of a dream). God bless you and more power ... keep on entertaining people Ioan, and serve as a good example to other people. Love yah...
Debbie from Australia
I think Ioan is very under-rated actor. He is a very talented actor, singer and model. He seems down to earth and doesn't forget where he comes from and where he started hes career. Ioan shows great passion, enthusism and energy in all the roles he play. I wish Ioan and Alice all the best for their upcoming wedding. I hope thay have long and happy life together. Have a great wedding day.I look forward to seeing back in Australia soon.
Tribu Diwata from the Philppines
He's a very good actor. I admire him a lot. He looks like my son's father. Is he married?

Having watched the Hornblower series and just recently having seen Amazing Grace, Ioan Gruffudd is a force to reckon with. He has a wonderful presence on screen and commands every scene he is in. He uses his face to convey many moods and his voice, both speaking and singing is very easy to listen to. I feel he will be a great star and will be worth watching in the years to come.
Martina from Sussex
Absolutely gorgeous, and when you combine him with Jamie Bamber (Archie Kennedy) in Hornblower, simply to die for.
Gloria
He's perfect in everyway! I would love to see shine in a stellar role and win an Oscar!
Michele Foster from Oklahoma
Ioan is more captivating than most of his peers because he is really an incredible actor, his charm just rolls from deep within. Yes, he is handsome but has so much more....but WOW, to be that beautiful and have a talent that surpasses. I know that is what every woman on here is writing about. A true gentleman on screen and off, who plays a hero. Now if he would just come riding in on a white horse and take me away.....LOL I pray that there will be more Horatio Hornblower series to follow, as I have watched them all and have suffered withdrawls after watching "Duty", the last one in the set. **sigh**
Fiona Hack from Holland
I just finished watching the Horatio Hornblower series. Ioan WAS Horatio. I enjoyed his acting thoroughly as I enjoyed the whole story, setting, the rest of the crew etc. I wish him all the best in his future work. It must feel great to do what your passion is. That is what makes him so great I think.
Virginie from Brittany, France
I first saw him in King Arthur. I didn't know him before but he caught my eyes, he is so charming!
Maricruz Lopez from Brownsville, Texax, USA
I first saw Ioan in Titanic - I was 17 at the time and I can positively tell you that his eyes were the ones that captured my attention. From then on that has been the only way that I could recognize him. I wasn't a fan, but it seemed that every movie that I saw-he was in it!! I loved his performance in Solomon and Gaenor, Black Hawk Down, Warriors, Fantastic Four, 102 Dalmatians, etc. He really had my full attention when I recognized that gleaming, dark, bad-boy-look in his eyes as Lancelot in King Arthur!! I don't have any souvenirs of him or anything like that but I truly enjoy his company whenever he's on TV. I have yet to experience his Horatio Hornblower Series, I don't want to rush into watching his films - I just want to run into them like I've always done so in the past, just by chance. I am sad to know that he's engaged to Alice Evans, but that is life and I wish them both A BEAUTIFUL LIFE together!! I on the other hand will wait for my well...at least a single moment that GOD will allow me to have a moment with Ioan Gruffudd - and if it happens so be it, if not then I still have my dreams. Hey it's only fair...Good Luck in all your projects and I wish you many of them!! Your such a great man and you have a beautiful sense of humor - Sir Lashalot-Wink ;)!!

My comments on Ioan? Well, coming from a battleaxe like myself (I'm 43), what can I say?
Saw Ioan on Hornblower and it's been steady sailing ever since. He's brilliant - and what a babe! And he's Welsh -I hope my next husband will be Welsh and if he resembles Ioan, well, then I'll be blessed two fold but if not, that's ok! As long as he's Welsh and a gentleman like Ioan, then I'll be very satisfied. Anyway, I pray and hope that good fortune continues with Ioan and everything he does and I also congratulate him and Alice on their engagement and I'm waiting to hear about the wedding - I wish to send them a gift. Ioan, you are truly wonderful and don't let Hollywood change you for a moment - and watch what those tabloids say about you and Alice, they'll prey on you like a pack of wolves so be on your guard!
Trisha Serena
What an actor - Ioan, you're the best there is
out there as far as actors. With your Welsh roots it's not surprising. Brilliant actors seem to have Welsh blood. Sir Anthony Hopkins watch out - Ioan is right up there in your league, if not better and by the way Ioan, you are far better looking than Sir Anthony...
Amy from Malaysia
Ioan Gruffudd is simply breathtaking in terms of his personality (based on what printed articles I've come across), talent, voice and looks (I simply appreciate all that I see and hear on screen). I first took notice of him in the Hornblower series and he just blew me away... although I have previously seen him in Wilde and Titanic but it was his portrayal as Horatio Hornblower that took my breath away forever. It was the whole package - the stories, the soundtrack, the acting, the script, the directing, the costumes... it was one awesome adventure after another. I was obviously devastated when Hornblower ended after only 8 instalments... ardent fans worldwide are strongly hoping there will be more new adventures to come for Mr H and his loyal men and I am no exception.
Please bring Hornblower to the big screen and soon! And Ioan, others have said it many times over, and to me too, you are perfect in many ways. I can't help but admire the way you light up the screen. You are truly indefatigable! Please keep up the excellent work and continue to entertain your global fans for many more years to come. May you be blessed with only good fortunes.
Grace Reynolds from Bridgend
I love Ioan because I have a signed photograph of him and a letter from his mother Gillian Gruffudd and I have got everything he has been in.
william george evans
I think that Loan Gruffedd is alright because he was on 101 Dalmations
Alex from Australia
ooooooooohh he's so awesome! i have been watching Hornblower for a while...but was sad to see it finish so quickly! it was a really good show...full of action, adventure, AND IOAN! he's such a great actor...like some actors, it looks a little fake but when he does it, in all nervousness and courage of Horatio Hornblower, it's like exactly how you might have pictured him! He would make a great James Bond bcoz he displayed that charismatic style with his Lancelot character. Lol, not to mention he's pretty dang hot! *big smile* btw, this quote is funny>>>"Must you speak when you have nothing to say?!" ~ Mr Hornblower Sir!
Romina De Angelis from Ancona, Italy
Ioan is beautiful, wonderful, fantastic. I'd like to meet him but I know is only a dream.
Bethan Hopkin from Llanharry
I fell off the stage in a school production, straight into Ioan's lap! He also came to school to talk to my media studies class about 101 dalmations. School was so difficult when Ioan's dad was headmaster! I'r Gad!
Francesca Vezzosi from Italy
What a great ambassador Wales has! Thanks for sharing everything and everyone Welsh with the rest of the word!
James ap Dewi
An amazing film could be done of the last days of the old Wales, about Llywelyn III. It could start with the myth surrounding his birth - of the Wolf breaking into his father's apartments and his father killing his dog by mistake - to the undermining of his relationship with Edward I by the Marcher Lords. To his failure to produce an heir and the death of his wife. Finally the wars of independence, the treason of Dafydd...his death, the capture and theft of his crown and the royal regalia of the Britons...and the execution of his brother - who perhaps sees "the light" and becomes a true Welsh patriot before his death..and maybe an epilogue about Owain Glyndwr. Don't ignore the most awesome, emotive history any country can have - it demands a film!
Phung Nghi from Australia
He's my knight in shining armour!
Carlie from East Sussex
The first time I ever saw Ioan Gruffudd was when he played Horatio Hornblower in the TV series Hornblower. From then on I was hooked. I've also watched him in Titanic, 102 dalmations, Great expectations, Father and son, The forsyte saga, King arthur and Fantastic four. He is a very talented actor and especially cute. When you first see his face, his eyes and smile just make you melt on the spot. My favourite character he has played has to be Mr Fantastic in Fantastic 4. This is because he is simply fantastic anyway. My heart broke when I found out he was dating his co-star from 102 dalmations, But even then I still stayed his biggest fan. But if Ioan ever reads this. I love you Ioan and if you ever need a Mrs Fantastic, I'm here!
Petula from Ammanford
I've been a follower of 'Pobol y Cwm' since its first showing, and always thought that the young Ioan would go far. He has exceeded everything I expected of him and more. I'm sure he would make an ideal choice as the next James Bond. I am now looking forward to seeing his new movie 'The Fantastic 4' after seeing interviews with Ioan on all channels including his Welsh interview on S4C.

Aura Aragon from Los Angeles, CA, U.S.A.
My first exposure to Ioan was 'King Arthur'. I was intrigued. People suggested that I purchase the 'Hornblower' series. From that moment on, I was hooked! He's brilliant in the series - I hope he does more! He's absolutely wonderful in everything that he does! I wish him all the success in the fickle business that is 'show business'. If Hollywood knows what's good for them, they will offer every single movie to Ioan. They need to open their eyes and see how good this man is. And he needs to do a musical. He's got a lovely singing voice!
Nic Thyer from Cardiff
I like that Ioan has had great Hollywood success recently but still keeps to his Welsh roots. I admire him for being able to speak Welsh, and put on an American accent.
Madeline from Leonia, New Jersey, USA
Since first catching a glimpse of him in Hornblower at the end of 1999, I have been mesmerised by Ioan Gruffudd in all his varied roles. I have had the pleasure of meeting him twice and have been struck not only by his outer beauty (which is breath-taking!), but also his inner beauty displayed in his unflagging graciousness. He is a rare commodity these days - a true gentleman!
Miranda from Clarksville
Ioan is a great actor! Especially in King Arthur. I watched the movie non-stop! Plus he's really cute!!
Julie NY USA
Ioan is a great actor. He lights up the silver screen. I have an autograph picture of him which I proudly display on my coffee table.
Melonie from TEXAS
I first saw Ioan as Lancelot. I looked for filmography on the internet and found the Hornblower series. He was great. Since then I have been trying to see as much of his work as possible. He is quite handsome but above that his talent as an actor is brilliant. THANKS!
Amanda from Calafornia
I think Ioan is a great actor. He captured everyone's hearts playing Lancelot in King Arthur. Ioan is a gorgeous young man and I adore him.
Jassmine Cardiff
Hollywood hero!! Hollywood hunk also from the look at his photo.
Christine DiSciullo from Dover, NH, USA
I read Hornblower (in German), given by my father, for the 1st time when I was 14. I was fascinated. I just recently saw the movies, shown here in the States, and have to say, that Ian Gruffudd portraits him perfectly. I have always invisioned Hornblower this way. I hope there will be more to come.
Elena from Wales
I've met Ioan Gruffydd at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol and I shook his hand! He was extremely down to earth and friendly.
Tamara Bennett from Nashville, Tennessee USA
He brings out my maternal instincts, though I'm not even close to being old enough to having a child that age. Oh, all right. I lied about the age thing and the maternal instinct thing. Ioan Gruffudd melts my butter!
Carys US
Ioan is a wonderful actor and he is beautiful.

He's just great!

He's like SOOOOO gorgeous, I want to have babies with him and raise them on a farm or something.
Rachel Tripp from US
O my god I think that he's the hottest thing since well ever!!!!. If I had to rate him out of ten he'd be a 100,000,000,000,000 plus more. He's my knight in shining armor. I also think that no one could capture Lancelot better that him. I mean he's extremely talented. He's like the perfect guy!!

Oh my god! I've been in love with Ioan ever since I saw him play Lancelot in King Arthur. He's so sexy and I love his accent! He's my knight in shining armour!!

I never knew. I was absolutly clueless. Then I saw King Arthur and couldn't help but rant for a week: "But why Lancelot! Why did HE have to die!!" lol!
Amanda from the US
I have been the biggest fan of Ioan Gruffudd for a couple of years now. I believe that he is the best actor in the world. I have Welsh in my blood and it is good to see a very awesome Welsh on the big screen. Keep up the good work Ioan.
Joe from Colorado, USA
Ardderchog!
Beca Prew from Cardiff
I've been a huge Ioan Gruffudd fan for over a year and think that he is absolutely fantastic! Through him I have met many amazing people from all over the world and discovered the other Welsh talent in the form of his best mate Matthew Rhys! I've got so much to thank him for - even though I've never actually met him! He is among the most talented actors I know about, but still seems grounded and true to himself and his country despite Hollywood success!! Just amazing!
Lisa from E.C. Indiana
One of my favorite stories has to be the story of King Arthur. I have seen through movies and imagined through books what my favorite character Lancelot might have looked like, but after seeing Jerry Bruckheimer's interpretation of this story and Ioan Gruffudd as Lancelot I no longer wish to put another face to Lancelot because Ioan is the most perfect Lancelot I've ever seen!!
Tiffany from France
I love him - he is verry sexy and he's a verryy good actor and he has got a smile!!!!!
Sarah Hixson from Bridgend
I think he is a really nice person. I go to the school that his father used to be headmaster of! But his father's moved now to another comprehensive. He has done very well for himself to become such a popular person in the acting industry.
Nancy Gay from the USA
What a handsome and talented young man but then again - he is Welsh - how could he not succeed.....
Didi, Texas
I am a 50-ish woman who is entralled by Ioan Gruffudd. This is a real man, not some overgrown boy. I haven't followed any other actors' careers because they were so "Hollywood" and into themselves. I can't get enough of IG. Hope to see much more of him.
L C Yee from Philippines
O my gosh! Ioan is so hot! He's very talented aside from his good looks. I think he should appear in many movies in the future and I will wait for that. I love you Ioan!!!
Penelope Lane from London
He is such a babe! And is just as good if not better than any Hollywood Actor - Hurrah for Wales - Hurrah for Ioan!
Stynaa Lillie from Fitchburg
OH MY GOSH!! I first saw Ioan in Titanic and I fell in love with him. Then I saw him in 102 Dalmatians and then my favorite movie King Arthur. Ioan ur soo hott! I'M UR BIGGEST FAN FOR LIFE!
Rayna from Los Angeles
I first saw Ioan in Horatio Hornblower, and I've been hooked ever since. I look very much forward to seeing King Arthur, as he seems like he could do the role of Lancelot justice. I do hope he doesn't become too 'LA' and keeps his accent though. In Century City, it was a tragedy to see his beautiful Welsh accent covered up by a nasty flat faux-American dialect!
Savannah from Wicklow, Ireland
I first noticed Ioan in Great Expectations, and I was blown away. He is such a talented actor, a great ability to believe in the character he is portraying and not forgetting his stunning good looks, and that beautiful soft spoken like silk welsh accent. Really looking forward to seeing 'King Arthur' when it is here in Ireland, I will be first in the queue. Ioanette forever!!!!!
Alex Lovibond from Tasmania
He is a very talented actor and I hope to see many more Hornblower films made - they are my favourite TV show!
Pia from Australia
Althoug I'm Australian, I have some Welsh ancestry. I'm doing a school project on Wales at the moment - I find it fascinating. There's just one thing I want to say about Ioan...is he really such a darling?! I absolutely love everything about him. He is an excellent actor and hot too!! Who could resist the accent?! Welsh is the sexiest in the world. Ioan Gruffudd is a Welsh treasure & I adore him :)
Tammy Kendrew from Ottawa, Canada
I first noticed Ioan when Horatio Hornblower was aired on A & E back in 1998. I knew after one Hornblower movie how extremely talented Ioan is. He played his character perfectly. Horatio Hornblower is so honourable and loyal - Ioan had me convinced that Horatio was real! This beautiful and talented actor has but one place to go - straight to the top! Ioan, you make my heart leap and I cannot wait for your next performance. Thank you!
Ksenya from Russia
I first saw Ioan in 'The Forsythe Saga' and immediately noticed him. Though I live in Russia and haven't seen Hornblower I can say that he is very talented and one of my favoutite actors!
Meg Arbo, Southern California
I have been following Ioan's career since I was in Australia in 2000-2002 and saw Hornblower. I was immediately transfixed. Being an actor myself, I am not interested if the actor is merely handsome. He'd better be good at his craft, too! In fact, as incredible as it may sound, it was a full 30 minutes into Hornblower that I thought, "Hey, this bloke is hot!" He is talented first and foremost. He's good enough that he would have made it anyway. So glad there is still some talent out there! Cheers, Ioan!
Caroline from Australia (NSW)
Seren has the right idea. I would love to see a movie or series on Llywelyn ap Gruffudd instead of another rehash of Arthur. Surely there are other Welsh heros for him to portray?
Love his work. Brilliant.
Susan from Australia
I first saw Ioan on Hornblower whilst flicking through the channels and became just hooked on the show because of Ioan's charisma, charm and passion he exudes! And now I'm a big fan of Ioan's!
Elina Perkiomaki from Tampere, Finland
I think Ioan is one of the pearls of the silver screen!
Kirsty from Lancaster
I am reading the Hornblower books at the moment and he plays the part of Hornblower exactly it should be played. I can't wait for the King Arthur film to come out. He truly deserves oscars for his acting and I hope that he goes really far with his acting career.
Jude Johnson from Tucson, Arizona
There are few actors who demand your eye at the moment they appear on-screen through pure intensity of talent. Ioan Gruffudd is definitely one of those few. His gentlemanly conduct in the real world, his passion for his homeland, and his professionalism will have Hollywood comparing him favorably to the beloved late Gregory Peck. Those who have worked with him admire his down-to-earth manner and readiness to be one of the crew. He has brought Wales to the world wherever he has travelled - intriguing many to look further into Welsh culture. Pob lwc pob erioed, Ioan. Cymru Am Byth!
Kimberley Counsell from Leicester
He has achieved a great deal in a very short while, and constantly rewards fans with the superb quality of his acting. Not only that - he gives every impression of being a wonderful, down-to-earth man, who brightens the lives of his family and friends. He really is a shining star - an example to all in the acting profession.
Karin from Thorn, Netherlands
You can't help noticing Ioan Gruffudd when he's on screen. His talent, acting skills and good looks are a pleasure for the eyes and his voice music for the ears, whether he speaks or sings, with or without his lovely Welsh accent. With his love for his family and country and his down-to-earth attitude he's not only a great actor, but also a great person!
Dawn from Lancashire
His work is simple and real. He has superior talent in showing the development of character. As the officer Lowe, he plays the part to perfection. In Horatio Hornblower he is extraordinary. When I watch the performance, the character is real. It is beyond something done for entertainment. He captures Horatio's courage and determination when he feels that he has failed. He plays Horatio to the perfect degree. I hope he succeeds beyond expectations. I think he is an amazing actor.
Shanan Anderson from Australia
His talent is exceptional and few of his contemporaries can rival him in this. Thanks to Ioan for sharing himself with us and developing his characters so well that he really makes the 'show'.
Rodsella in Panama City
When you first set eyes on this young man, you can't help to notice a certain glow that irradiates whenever he's on screen. Not only does he bring wonderful performances, in real life he manages to be such a down-to-earth boyo with such a passion for his family and country that is truly endearing.
Seren Llawen from North Carolina
His heartbreakingly tender performance in Great Expectations, and then his conscientious, heroic Hornblower will always to me be the definitive portrayals of these characters. Comments in his interviews about his passion for Wales motivated me to learn more about your magnificent country and its talented and great-hearted people. He is an excellent spokesman for you by means of his talent, passion, and loyalty - one which I now share. My greatest wish would be for him to bring to life some of the historic heroes of Wales such as Owain Glyn Dwr or even Llywelyn ap Gruffudd.
Liz Broadhurst from Australia
Ioan is gorgeous and I love his Welsh accent.
