It's seemed a long wait but Hywel's episode of Heartbeat can be seen on 14 September. I'll be glued to the tv screen.

Talia from New Zealand
Hywel is the most gorgeous looking man I have ever seen, he's a fantastic actor and I can't bear the Bill without him.

Emily Burton, Surrey
I've never been that keen to be honest. I'm surprised he has so many avid fans. I saw him on the Stage and was very disappointed. And as for 'The Bill' - to watch the show....is to waste your life.

Lucie, Ireland
Well done on Casualty 1907 and it's onwards now to Celebrity Masterchef and ITV's Heartbeat...onwards and upwards!

Vicki, Newquay
Casualty 1907 is now running on BBC1, Sunday evening at 9pm. The character of Dr. Lawes, played by Hywel Simons, has been reprised so tune in if you want to see him in action. He'll also be appearing in Heartbeat and the new Celebrity Masterchef.

Lizzie, Birmingham
Just seen advertised Casualty 1907 begins Sunday 30 March. Looking forward to seeing Hywel on our screens again.

Mary, Louth
Good new Anne in Wigan, Casualty 1907 is listed in the Radio Times for Sunday 30th March at 9pm. First of three episodes. And I believe he is also to appear in an episode of the new series of Heartbeat, transmission date unknown. And don't forget Celebrity Masterchef! Let the good times roll....

Sue Wadsworth-Ladkin , Halifax
Look out for Hywel on Heartbeat playing a pop impressario.I too was wondering what happened to the transmission of Casualty 1907.

Christina, Staines
I see that his lovely lady wife, Sarah Tansey, is listed for this Saturday's episode of Casualty (1st March). Maybe this is a good omen for finally seeing Casualty 1907 hit the airwaves?

Anne, Wigan
What happened to Casualty 1907, did I miss it? Are they going to change the name and show it this year, or has it been scrapped?

Sue Wadsworth-Ladkin, Halifax
Just in from Hywel's agent; he's recently completed filming Celebrity Masterchef. Don't know the transmission date(s) as yet, but if any kind person at the BBC does know, can you tell us please?

Donna Payne from south Wales
Me and my son think Hywel Simons is great. We loved watching him on The Bill and hope we'll see him on The Bill again soon.

Jacqueline from Rotterdam
Please let him return to The Bill with Scott Neal. He plays beautifully.

Sue, Halifax
More good news from Hywel's agent. He will be filming three episodes of Casualty 1907 in Aug/Sept 2007. No transmission date as yet. Looks like the nagging paid off!

Elaine, Staines
If you're near the New Vic theatre in Stoke from 29th June to 21st July 2007 you'll have the chance to see him performing on stage in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, playing Valmont.

Chin, South Australia
His agent tells us that he hasn't, as yet, been cast to appear in the series - to I suggest everyone gets writing to make sure they do! Contact: Stone City Films Ltd, 37 John's Mews, London WC1N 2NS

Sinéad, Ireland
Good news hot off the presses. The BBC have decided to commission a 6 episode series of Casualty 1906. The pilot, broadcast in December 2006, in which Hywel Simons had a part, was a huge success and they've decided to go ahead with the series. As yet there's no news on casting but fingers crossed Mr Simons will once again don the white coat...

Vee Shawe, Newquay
Hope you have a lovely birthday on the 10th February - many happy returns, and many more of them.

Lizzie, B'ham
Craig Gilmore back in the bill would be birthdays and Christmases rolled into one. A new rank perhaps would open up whole new possibilites. Either way - more tv pleeeeese!

Vee Shawe, Newquay
Now Doug isn't that a lovely idea? Gilmore was a good character with a lot of potential but I don't think it'll happen any time soon. Besides, I'd like to see Mr Simons in something new, stretch him a bit as an actor - he's got the talent.

Doug - Co. Durham UK
Is'nt it time he returned to the Bill as Craig Gilmore? One superbly acted role, and with the forthcoming 'merger' of police stations, they have the ideal reason to bring him back...with or without Luke Ashton.

Lizzie, B'ham
Wednesday 10 January 1100am UK Gold are showing a Casualty repeat in which Hywel plays George Burrows. Casualty 1906 was great, fingers crossed for a series.

Sinéad, Dublin
May I pass on season's greetings to Hywel and best wishes for the New Year. May 2007 bring you success and happiness in all you do.

Vee Shawe, Newquay
I don't suppose there's any chance of a BBC series of 'Casualty 1906' in the pipeline? I really think it has the potential for a cracking period drama serial.

Vee Shawe, Newquay
Congratulations Hywel Simons on not one, but TWO, excellent performances last weekend. We had period drama and comedy, both played with equal skill. Here's to many, many more in 2007.

Sue, Halifax
News fresh in from Hywel's agent - Hywel is currently filming 'Eros Unleashed' for ITV Wales, playing the character of Roddy. Look forward to seeing that when it is screened.

(Editor's Note: To be broadcast 11pm on Friday 1 December)

Sinead, Ireland
Leah, you'll get no arguments on that opinion here! And now for some excellent news. 'Casualty 1906', in which Hywel plays Dr Lawes, will be screened on 3rd December, at 8pm on BBC One.

Leah, New South Wales, Australia
Hywel is a fantastic actor, and doesn't get the credit that he deserves. I think he is a very talented man, and I think I speak for all Bill fans here when I say he that is sorely missed as Sgt Craig Gilmore. And I'm proud that he's a fellow Taffy!

Vee Shawe, Newquay
Hurrah! Light at the end of the tunnel. Something to look forward to on a dark November evening.

Sue Wadsworth-Ladkin, Halifax
Latest screen date seems to be November 20th 2006 and Hywel is playing "Dr Lawes" in Casualty 1906.

Vee, Newquay
Latest update on transmission date for Casualty 1906 is November - nothing more specific than that I'm afraid so keep watching the Radio Times.

Tim Jackson, Bracknell
Hywel Simons is a fantastic actor and I really hope he comes back to The Bill one day! Please Hywel ... your presence is sorely missed!

Sue from Halifax
Hywel is, without doubt, one of most under utilised actors in the country at the moment. He is also a very kind and considerate person and all of us on his fansite, www.hywelsimons.co.uk, would like to thank him for allowing us to pester his agent for information on his career.

Sinead, Ireland
Newsflash for all Hywel Simons' fans. He's currently filming a pilot for a new BBC drama called 'Casualty 1906'. Set in an East End hospital at the turn of the 20th century. He plays a doctor. Transmission date to be confirmed but should be on BBC this Autumn.

Sinead, Ireland
He was really good in 'Doctors'. Cream, as they say, always rises to the top and his class as an actor stood out even in this brief performance.

Sinead, Ireland
Well it was great to see Hywel back on TV, even if it was only for one episode. His talent and quality as an actor stood out. But he can do so much more than this. As one who's seen him on stage I can vouch for his ability to take a part and make it his own and he is more than capable of tackling the big dramatic roles so let's see him in some serious TV drama - soon please?

Carla Rose
He was great in The Bill as Craig Gilmore.

Sineid, Ireland
For all admirers of Hywel Simons, he will be appearing as a Guest Star in the episode of 'Doctors' scheduled for transmission on Thursday 11th May at 2.05pm.

Lizzie B'ham
Thanks, Sinead for all the info. Keep up the good work.

Sinead
No idea why his scenes were cut from Hyperdrive (more material than they had time I guess) but he has just filmed a Guest Lead role in the BBC daytime drama series 'Doctors'. Transmission date unknow, check the TV guides for character called Dave Perrin.

Val Lolley from Leeds
Having seen Hywel in 3 different and varied stage plays, I can only agree with all the above comments. He is a great actor and a lovely man too. Having met him now 4 times, he always has time for his fans and is very appreciative of them. I would love to see him on TV more as well. A Bill spin off with Craig and Luke? How wonderful!

Sinead Ireland
You're so right Beano. For a relatively small town Porthcawl has punched above its weight in talent. What a pity the town itself doesn't seem to blow its own trumpet. It's a hotbed of artistic talent so tell the world! Here's hoping my own favourite son of Porthcawl, Mr. Hywel Simons, starts to get the recogition he deserves.

Beano once of Porthcawl
How many top quality actors has Porthcawl comp produced? Hats off to Roger Burnell. Still he couldn't do anything with me.Shame that.

Sinead, Ireland
It seems his scenes were cut! He was listed to appear as a Hologram Commander in the weeks leading up to transmission but in the end they cut that bit out! If I knew any Welsh swearwords I'd say them!

Karen, middlesex, uk
I love Hywel Simons. He is a fantastic actor and a wonderfull person. He always has time for his fans. He will go very far in life.

Anne, Wigan
I watched all of Hyperdrive but I didn't see Hywel. Was he in it?

Sinead, Ireland
Well, hold onto your hats admirers of Hywel Simons. He will be appearing on Hyperdrive on BBC2, at 10pm on Wednesday 15th February. In case you miss it then, it's repeated on Sunday evenings.

carla walton from west yorshire
i loved when he was in the bill and little he was brill

Sinead, Dublin
He's due for an appearance in the new BBC2 comedy Hyperdrive. Not sure what episode so keep your eyes peeled! For those who loved him in uniform he'll be playing a Commander...yumeee.

Chris Shaw fom Porthcawl
A true gent.

Jane, Birmingham
Hywel Simons is a brilliant and talented actor. Sgt Gilmore was one of the best characters in The Bill and broke a lot of hearts when he left. It would be great to see him return to the part with or without PC Ashton. More TV please Hywel.

Emily Walsh from plymouth devon
Absoulutley gorgous! i absoulutley loved him in the bill. he was brilliant and couldnt wait for the next episode. he is such a great and gorgous actor and would love to see him again with another big role. hope to see him again soon on tv and wish him luck for the future! x

Sinead, Dublin
Hyperdrive starts on BBC2 on Wednesday 11th January - Hywel Simons appears in an episode (don't know which one) so keep your eyes open for a rare TV appearance...

Sinéad, Dublin
Yes he is gorgeous but he's also a cracking good actor. I'd love to see him in Dr. Who or Torchwood the new spin-off series. He'd be ideal in any of the Jane Austen dramatizations because he is, on screen and in person, the epitome of a gentleman.

Syl
He was in Hyde Park, Sydney, Australia last saturday afternoon.

Carla Walton, Halifax, Yorkshire
I think he is brilliant.

Sinéad, Dublin
BBC2 will be showing a new sci-fi comedy in the New Year, called 'HyperDrive'. Hywel has a cameo role in one of the episodes - in uniform again, yes please!

Sinead, Ireland
FYI 2 of his onscreen performances are soon to be available on DVD - Little Britain Series 2 and The Flint Street Nativity. So if you need a little reminder of how good he is, these should tide you over until his next appearance on stage or screen.

Anne, Wigan
I'm dying to find out what he's doing next. He's gorgeous!!

Carol from Hampshire
Hywel is pure unadulterated sex on legs.

Jane, Galway
I think Hywel Simons is going to be one of the great theatrical stars of the future. At the moment he's on a long tour with Dracula and having seen him work onstage I can vouch for his talent. And, he's a really nice bloke as well.

Clint from Australia
Loved Hywel in The Bill and was very disappointed to see him leave that show. Was brilliant to see him pop up in Little Britain. What a SPUNK!

Astrid, Newcastle Australia
Hywell was one of the only reasons that I watched the bill and when he left I was so crushed.

Sharb from Wolverhampton
I think Hywel was ok, but he was gay in the Bill because no girls liked him.

James from Australia
Hywel's acting skills far outstrip that of many Hollywood celebs. It is unfortunate that we don't see much of him anymore in Australia now that he has left The Bill. I think I speak for everyone here when I say 'Come back Hywel!'

Theresa, Dublin
It's onwards and upwards for Hywel Simons as he's due to start a nationwide tour with the theatrical adaptation of Dracula. Is there no end to his talents!!

Sinead, Dublin
Hywel Simons has just finished a run in the stage play Dancing at Lughnasa, in which he was excellent and not only has he been in two episodes of BBC's Little Britain but he will shortly appear in an episode of Casualty. This man is a fine actor with wide ranging talents and he's very nice in person so let's have some more of him on TV please...

Wills from Monmouthshire
To me the best story line in the Bill was the Luke/Craig will they/won't they saga. As they have both left the series, wouldn't it be good if they could do a spin-off as to what happened to them once they were away from Sun Hill. Hywel Simons and Scott Neal were brilliant in ther portrayals.

John from Meath
I saw him on Little Britain and it sparked my interest. I thought he was wonderful in The Bill, and gave a good representation of gay men. He's also extremely charming and attractive and I think should be a much bigger star than he is!

Ant C from NSW
Hywel was great as Sgt. Gilmore in The Bill! Haven't seen him in anything else.

Lynda, South Australia
I just love Hywel in everything I've seen him in. Talented, gorgeous, Welsh..what more could you want in a man?

James Barnard from St Albans
His performance in 'The Bill' was exceptional - quiet, understated but with a brooding sense of menace. He took on what could have been a very limited, superficial part and created a character who lives on in the memory (and not just on UK Gold!). Apparently, Craig Gilmore won a poll of most-missed characters by fans of 'The Bill' - considering the major cast changes over the last few years that says a lot!

Gaynor Hampson from Manchester
Hywel Simons is to appear in two episodes of Little Britain when the new series returns on October 19th on BBC3 before it's then repeated on BBC1 playing a Welsh vicar.

Sally Fitzpatrick, Cheshire
I can't wait to see Hywel back on stage or screen. The recent repeats of his stint on The Bill on UK Gold have made me realise just what a great actor he is.

G Hampson from Manchester
I think Hywel Simons is one of the best actors all round and also one of the nicest people you can ever meet. He knows how to make you relax and is very kind as well. I hope I get to meet him again one day and hope he finds more TV work soon.

Cheryl Mcdonald from Edinburgh
I think Hywel is amazing and he has the most lovely eyes. We need to see more of you.

Elinor Marshall
I saw him in Double Indemnity and he was extremely good. He really should be in high demand but doesn't seem to be, it's a shame that his talents appear to be being wasted. MORE HYWEL PLEASE!

Simon Williams from Liverpool
I think Hywell is a great actor and havn't seen anything of him since Heartbeat when he appeared alongside his offscreen partner Sarah Tansay. It would be great to see more of him. Also I may be speaking out of turn but I think He's ABSOLUTELY DROP DEAD GORGEOUS too.

Mark from Lancashire
Hywel Simons played an ace part in the bill as Craig.

Sineid NiCharthaigh in Dublin
He has just finished a successful run with Double Indemnity in the Nottingham Playhouse where he played the lead role of Walter Huff, the insurance salesman enticed to commit murder in a lethal combination of lust and money.

Jordan from Blackburn
I think Hywel was great in The Bill and I would love to see him on TV In the near future! It was good to see him play such a fantastic character as Craig Gilmore! More of Hywel! More of Hywel! Please?!

Krista Green from Prestwick, Scotland
His acting as Craig Gilmore was amazing...please, please, please come back to The Bill.

Siobhan from Leeds
He was great as Sgt Craig Gilmore. I looked forward to every episode of the Bill when he was in it. I would love to see him in another big role on TV again!

Aimee M. from Perth, Australia
Hywel rocks! Unfortunately, being in Australia, we have only seen him in The Bill. We want more Hywel Simons!

Janet Carson
His skill was amply demonstrated during his time on The Bill when he managed a powerful portrayal of the gay Sergeant Gilmore - despite having a poor storyline and worse script to work with. Unfortunately we in Australia have had no opportunity to experience his theatre skills. Nor have we been able to see him on TV apart from his role in The Bill.

Joan Prendergast from Southampton
He is the actor who has convinced me most often that the lines he delivers are the product of some thought..and not just words learned earlier to be delivered on cue. His portrayal of Sgt Craig Gilmore in The Bill was outstanding. His performance was sympathetic, credible, and above all watchable despite the limitations of the script. His ability to convey so much without speaking was a great asset there. He certainly deserves this recognition.

Noni
He's a magnificent actor...We here at home love watching him on The Bill. It's a shame he'll be leaving soon! My family and I wish him much luck in the future.

Chris McIvor in Melbourne, Australia
Hywel Simons has a massive following, not only in the UK but also as far off as Australia. Hywel is a superb actor. He can play any type of character and immediately captivate his audience. I sincerely hope that he will come to Australia some day, where he will be warmly welcomed.

Julie Maude in Leeds
I saw Hywel in a stage production of Chekov's Three Sisters. He is a wonderful and, I would say, under-rated actor and I was fortunate enough to see him in Colchester and meet him after the show. He is a really lovely person and deserves huge success in the future in whatever he chooses to do. If anyone deserves to go in your Hall of Fame it is Hywel!

Sue Wadsworth-Ladkin from Elland
Hywel can breathe life into any character and really brings a script to life. I too was lucky enough to be able to meet him after a performance of Three Sisters at Colchester and I agree with Julie, he is a lovely chap and with a talent like that he deserves to go to the top.

Sinéid NiCharthaigh from Dublin
I've been a fan of Hywel Simons for ages. Loved him in The Bill, where he managed to make an initially unsympathetic character very likeable, to the very funny deadpan humour of People Like Us and The Flint Street Nativity and recently showed his talent for the 'heavier' repertoire of Chekhov on stage. A nice man and a fine actor - more please.
