Emlyn Lewis - plastic surgeon at St Lawrence Hospital, Chepstow - "His skills made life more bearable for those who were unfortunately maimed by war or born with facial defomities. I have many memories of my stays at St Lawrence's from 1951 - 1965, all very happy, thanks to all the wonderful staff there." - Esther Simpson, Bath

"I was at St Lawrence Hospital from 1953 to 1979 travelling from Cardiff twice a year. Dr Lewis was not just a doctor - he became a close friend that one could trust. When he passed away it was like a family member had died." - Clive White, Cardiff

Samual Pearse and Leslie Wain - soldiers from Penarth - "Two forgotten Celtic warriors that have been missing for nearly 90 years are still being forgotten and not recognised for their bravery by the town of their birth, and of the return of their two sons. In remembrance of Sgt Samual Pearse VC MM who survived all the battles of the Western front, and killed in action North Russia 1919. A/Capt Leslie Wain VC killed in action at the battle of Cambrai 1917. Both sons were aged 22 and have no known graves. Both are Welshman from Penarth ... Lest we forget." - Paul Kiley, Tonteg

Anthony Pitt - policeman from Bettws, Newport - "Definitely an unsung hero ... dedicated to making the community an amazing place. Mr Pitt is a highly respected police officer, it is an honor to have met him." - Katrina Kamper, British Columbia, Canada
