Harry Potter has a story that people can relate to insted of it sounding all made up. I think that the books make us see how Harry, Ron and Hermione grow up.
Edward L Meeker, Penn Valley, California, USA
My wife and myself took to reading the books to each other. Now I've got the audios and have been through half of them a second time. I would love to see some more novels from her, especially set in that universe. I feel like I did with Tolkien, that there are more stories I haven't heard.
Danielle Hollander from Bucks
JK Rowling, you are amazing. Keep it up!
Saira Hussenbux from Bucks
These books are the greatest creation ever. I am so sad they have come to an end. I have written an 869 page possible eighth book because I just couldnt bear the possibility that it all ended at seven...
Samantha in Chepstow
I love the Harry Potter books and think Ms Rowling is a very talented woman. I completed my secondary education at Wyedean School and am now in the sixth form there. I really like it, although I know that Rowling didn't. It's strange to imagine it with only 12 teachers (that's how many there were when she was there) as now we have near 100, I think.
Mac Wolfram from Nottingham
I admire your ability to describe and to put your mind on to paper. This is a special talent, that is rare in both creative writers and readers. I cannot remember the last time I complimemted a writer. Those who have tried - and who normaly fail in the process - should ask you for advice for you are the best writer I have seen since I started reading shakesphere. Well Done Ms Rowling!
Royce Potter, Dallas, Texas
I simply love the Harry Potter stories, although I remain the butt of jokes because of my surname.
Maryann Sanderson from Clear Lake, California
I've read thousands of books, but yours are the best!
Christian, Bristol
JK's Harry Potter is a creation of the imagination of today & beyond. The girl born just outside Bristol is another in the Pedigree of English Great Authors.
Peter Tomey, Detroit, Michigan

I just got home from a trip to the UK. The first stop on our road trip was Chepstow, Wales and I fell in love with the town and its castle. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and admire JK Rowling for her ability to capture the imagination of so many people of every age, religion and nationality! I was truly sorry when I read the final page of her final Harry Potter book!
Anna from Chepstow
I love JK Rowling's books. They are great. I live in Chepstow and go to Wyedean School. Please come and visit, JK Rowling, Wyedean is much better now!:)
Mariana from UK
I love to read Harry Potter every evening...It is very good BOOK. But it's a pity that there are only seven books.
Fatemeh N, Scotland
J.K. Rowling is a really talented writer but I think that she would feel much more comfortable with out having a MILLION fans starring at her when she's shopping in the vegetable stacks. Her books give me a feeling that her description gives everyone a diffrent feeling. I hope that she feels like a normal but talented writer. I like your books and I know you feel relieved to finish Harry Potter.Good Luck.
Sujash Islam from Bangladesh
Harry Potter has made my world full of imaginations! They are great! I often dream that I'm flying on a firebolt and roaming above the towers and turrets of Hogwarts Castle. Thanks to JK Rowling who enhanced my realm of imagination by writing such lovely stuff!
Kadri-Linda Ernits,Estonia
Harry Potters books are the best books in the world!!I love themI have read all the books and think they are fantastic and I think that there should be more than 7 books!!!:)
Alex from Chepstow
Harry Potter books are excellent. I go to Wyedean, and we have a library that was opened by JK Rowling. Wyedean is an ace school, come and visit Chepstow!!
Bethany Longshaw
Your Harry Potter books are the best ever.
Michelle Alvares from India
She is the greatest writer I have ever seen.
Kate Powell from Alnwick
JK Rowling is a pure genius!!! The Harry Potter books are a delight to read and are easily the best books I have ever read!!!
Enrico Gnani, Cardiff (originally)
I've read all the books and, although I can't say that they set the world on fire, they were very enjoyable and seem to have got a lot of people into reading fiction who may never have otherwise. Hopefully some of these may go on to read some really great authors and, if this is the case, as well as raking in a shed load of cash, JK will have achieved something great.
Jenny from Cardiff
I won book 2 in a competition, read it cos I'd heard a lot about how great it was, loved it, gave it to my grandchildren to read, then more of my family. When book 7 was published 6 copies came to me and my family ... we were all blown away...I am 58.
Jo Martin, Surrey
Genius... also, it is a bit of a coinincidence that these people who say Harry Potter is 'rubbish', conveniently have never read the books...hmmmm. Jo, you're a star!
gareth rolfe dorset
i think jk you are the most talented author out there and a true idol to look up to. your writting is incredible. i feel after harry potter kids wont know what to do with themselfes and i just hope they cant cope.
Olumide from Lagos, Nigeria
JKR series of Harry Potter really made me addicted. Harry Potter is an ingenious piece of work and I'm not afraid to say that at 28 I still can't get my eyes off the book. I have done 3 things lately; I have read, read and read the book all over again. Kudos to you JKR, you're just too good!
Lisa Madigan, Penarth
I have read four books and I've got some catching up to do. Your books bring out the child in me and I'm 31 and enjoy reading the books to my step kids who are starting to understand and follow the story of Harry Potter. I prefer the books to the film, but I do take the kids to watch the film. Keep writing JK Rowling.
Amanda Simpson, Essex
I love all your books and I'm waiting for the deathly hallows to be delivered to my home. Please, please write a few more books as they are a pleasure to read especially as I am disabled and can't get out much, they offer me a ray of sunshine. You're a brilliant writer.
Lauren Wye from Bucks
Wow. What an amazing film. I loved all the characters. I struggled reading the book, but the film was amazing and brought it all to life. I am begining the 6th book tonight and cannot wait! Keep going JK Rowling. You're so good at writing.
Charlotte Hall from Bucks
JK Rowling, you are so talented. I love all your books so much! And I think Harry is so fit in the film! But of course the reading is so much better! I have just seen the 5th film and was a little disappointed because it wasn't as good as the books, but all the same I can never put the book down! I have read them all so many times! They are amazing! Keep writing!
Anna Normandale from Northwood
It has been so enjoyable for both my children and I reading these books as they come out. The children were 5 and 6 when the first book came out ... old enough and bright enough to read them for themselves. It has been a wonderful journey with them, growing up and waiting for the next book, wondering how the story will turn, looking at the websites for clues ... re reading them in the holidays, going to the bookshop at midnight...
Susanna, Matawan, New Jersey, USA
We need more authors like JKR - her work appeals to all ages, it tells a story, it has a moral and she got millions of people all over the world involved in using their imagination. Bob from Canada needs to buy a clue. What did he ever do that has any worth?
Gani Rakhmetov, Kazakhstan
Something really changed about me since I first stepped into the magical world of Harry Potter. It’s amazing. I have never been so fanatic about anything in my life. I am now very addicted, if you like, to Harry Potter series. And I like it! It’s unbelievable! One must be super and mega creative and must have so much luxuriant imagination to create such a story as Harry Potter. I am 28 but I am still proud to say that I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I have read all 6 books two-three times, but I still want to read it. I like immersing myself into the world of Harry Potter. Now I have found the better way of immersion; now I translate Harry Potter books into Kazakh language. I have translated only first two chapters of HP and philosophers' stone. Dear Joanna - you are so great!
Nathalie Harasyn from Bucks
I love Harry Potter! I read it every night and I can't put it down. I'm so sad the last one is coming out! Thank you JK Rowling :)
Michael Peterken, Chepstow
I have read the first six Harry Potter Books, enjoyed them and I am looking forward to reading the seventh when it is published.
Mags from Raglan
What a great read - my grand-daughter gave me the first Harry Potter to read and I've been hooked ever since. Can't wait for the new book and the film to follow. Pity it will be the last - can you not carry on? JK, you have done single mums everywhere proud. Long may you continue and all the best to you and your family.
Toby Platt from West Sussex
The Harry Potter story is the best in all the universe along with Just William and all of Narnia, better than Five Children and It, better than Stig, better than, better than. We are just reading the fourth book and I wish they went on for ever and there were more than seven and the worst part is that they come to an end and you have to put them down. The end. PS I don't like football but I love Quidditch.
Charliegh Skene
I adore the Harry Potter books. I have dreams about them and everything. I dream that I am a girl who is Lord Voldemort's daughter and I am stuck who to pick - my dad or Harry.
Nicola N-S
I've read all the books that are out and I can't wait for the last book. I hope you do some more books after the 7th - it would be a real shame if you didn't.
James D. Dirck from Connecticut, United States
You have inspired me to create my own world in a book ...
I started reading the Harry Potter books at Thanksgiving 2005, right after I saw the fourth film. The fifth book is the one I read first ... I figured I saw the movies and was anxious to see what happened next, but the fifth took me from Thanksgiving up until a week before Christmas, but the sixth only took me a week. You are my idol and no matter what happens in the seventh Harry Potter book, I will love your series.
Lilly from Los Angeles, California, USA
omgsh JK Rowling, when you write your last Harry Potter book, you CAN'T kill HARRY, HERMOINE, or RON, it will just ruin the whole movie/book. So please don't kill them :] you're a great writer.
Mudit
I'm gonna be heartbroken if you stop at 7 books Jo ... c'mon, write at least 10...
Sophie King Lister from Aberdare
I love the books so much and am so glad I got the chance to get JKR'S autograph in Edinburgh last year. Go Harry Potter may your name live on 4 eva xx
Cariad Ross from Langstone
I think JK is a amazing writer. I have read every Harry Potter book. My mum had to get me a new book because I read it so much. My friends make fun of me because I read the books at playtime - I don't care! I can't wait for the last book to come out.
Sioned James from Swansea, South Wales
I cant begin to describe what Joanne Rowling's Harry Potter books mean to me! I have read many books over the years. Some fabulouse classics and some of the less-known yet still superbly written novels however I can safely say that Harry Potter has come out top every time! I have laughed, blushed, and cried while staying up till one o'clock in the morning reading those beloved pages. I've even read the Welsh Philosophers stone! Joanne, I hope you know how much Harry Potter is loved accross the nation and hope that you know how much you have given us! Good luck with book number 7 (the grand finale) - I can't wait to read it!!
Amy S, West Mids
Jo Rowling changed my life. Her stories capture my heart everytime I read a single word. I do not care what others at my school say about my beloved books - Harry Potter is an artistic creation that represents the whole point of fiction and fantasy : to lose yourself.
Harry, Ron and Hermione represent unity and friendship and a longing to help each other. The words on each page of every book blow your mind with magic and mystery. Jo Rowling gave me a reason for being good at English, so I could inspire millions of children all over the world like her. I now have a love for writing and hope that one day! (even though it's impossible) I shall be like her. That's never going to happen but just to feel the pride of seeing your book on someone's shelf will be enough for me.
Thank you Jo for the hours of imagination and magic I have been fed night after night. I have read each of your books seventeen times and I don't think I'll ever stop.
Read the books. Read the boy. Read magic.
Shraddha Sureka, India
She is the one of the best writers I have ever read and the most fabulous thing about her is that many of her characters clash with those of Shakespeare - Dumbledore is like Cicero in Julius Caesar who is known for his "silver hairs" and her knowledge of words and mythological characters like Argus - a hundered eyed monster. I am a student and we have to learn Shakespeare and it is fun to correlate some characers with those of Harry Potter. I would like to thank Jo to give us such a beautiful gift.
Chris Pearce-Webb, Chepstow
I became a fan while reading to my two boys at bedtime.
My wife went to Wyedean school at the same time as JK but could not remember her. She can remember the science teacher that inspired Snape that everyone called Stinger who I can also remember from my time at Caldicot School.
Shanice Braiden
Like I said before she is so cool, I love her writing and I got her autograph - yay! I don't think Harry Potter and the half blood prince was brill but it's still great!
Corinna from Malta
I like to read your Harry Potter stories. Your imagination is wonderful.
Sucheta Sinha, Canada
You are a truly humbled and artistic author who subconciously knows how to humour the reader. Your prose is beautiful, and there is such rawness and poetry with every sentence of your amazing and insightful novels. I love how you combine description and unformality to create something so vivid and transforming. I truly relish reading your books, and your intelligence and humour are delightful. Thank you for your dedication to literature, it is much needed, especially today.
Fishcake Frog from Caerphilly
My partner used to say you're too old too read kids books (I'm 27) and guess who can't wait for number seven!! We will be fighting over it so I'm buying two copies. Well done JK - an awesome set of books. So much imagination and the characters are brilliant - please dont stop at seven!!
Martin Walters, London
As a newly minted 50 year old I love the books - the stories hold you to the end. Quality and power and love of words shine through. I wish I could write like that.
JK Rowling has done something unique, written for both adults and children alike. I await the next and last book and thank JK Rowling from the bottom of my heart!
Sarah in Texas, USA
I love your books and I love to write, but I will never be as good as you. I am almost in 6th grade and all my teachers say I'm really good at reading. So they let me read your books. I would die if you only made 7 books - please make more. It's like in my class only me and 3 other girls liked Harry Potter but then we started to read it as a class and every one wants to read it. So there are smart people out there and stupid people out there - the smart ones read Harry Potter, dumb ones don't read Harry Potter books. Which is pretty sad...
Meg Cabot
Your books are almost as good as mine if that is possible!!!!!
Jordan from Liverpool
Harry Potter is the best book I've ever read.
aida amanova, kazakhstan
Joanne, you are the best of all writers in the world ever lived. I'm not a great fan of reading but your books made me love this wonderful journey through imaginative stories and I'm very thankful for that!
I wish your 7 book will be as big as OOtP!
Harry Potter forever!
Julian
j.k you write the most amazing books i have ever been interested in. also did you write on toilet paper when you made the first copies? my library teachers says so...
Kylie Crook from Texas, USA
I love the Harry Potter series! I have read the books so many times that when the movies come out, my mom has to tell me to be quiet because I keep quoting the books! I thank JK Rowling deeply for coming up with books so fantastic and amazing.
Kaelee
Joanne ia an extreamly talented auther and it blows my mined every time I read one of her books. She is an amazing person and i admire her so much. Her words have streached the minds of people all over the world and I hope that she continues to writte in the future.
Hannah's Blog Ireland
I don't care what anyone says Harry Potter is the best thing I have ever read. I wish I was that clever to think of him and Hogwarts.
People who say JK Rowling is feeding us ricdulas ides is wrong. I have a friend who never read before Harry Potter and now after reading them she is an avid reader.
That has to be a good thing hasn't it?
Harry Potter allows me to escape mundane everyday life into a magical world, its giving adults and children alike so much joy,why is that such a bad thing?
I think jk Rowling deserves every sucess she is given.
Good on her! I love you Joanne!
PS Go raibh mile maith agat(thanks) for letting Ireland win the world cup!
In my secondary school next year in first year The pholispher's stone is going to be an Irish text book!
ben from newcastle
I thought that all the books were absoloutely amazing. I have read them all, 6 times each. They are out of this world.
Holly Hamililton-Airdrie, Alberta, Canada
I love you Joanne. I have read every book at least 3 times. I read the 5th so many times my mom seriously said "Girl if you read that book one more time i will take it away from you for A YEAR!!"
Sarah R, Virginia, USA
JKR is one of the most amazing people in the world. She got away from her first husband, and managed to take her wondrous skills and make possibly one of the biggest ever pieces of literature. She deserves everyone's respect, whether or not you like her books. JKR, you are an amazing person and MuggleNet fans loves you like no others!
Roberto Rivera

i LOVE harry potter its the best book ever i can not waite for the next book what is harry going to do now in book 7 i hop this is the last book cose i hate waiting for the next book to come out.......
Isaac Franklin from Chepstow
I believe that making the film ruined the books and what makes your books great, the use of imagination to create the charactors, the school, and all which goes on inside the book. Thank you for a great read but no thanks for killing our imaginations by selling out.
Dai from Bedwas
I've had to read the books and watch the films with my children and I think they are dull. However, that's not the point of this contribution. I think Joanne is an absolute heroine for pulling herself up by her bootlaces and showing what strength of character can achieve.
Anny Dotter from London
Your Harry potter stories are great. They're the best books to read. I like them because thy're coooolllll!
Jasmine from Liverpool
She writes great books, and she is a great author. She should stay in writing.
King Pruitt Long Island New York

J.K.R. is the best author I've ever read, and how she has such a descriptive and imaginitive way for writing is beyond me!! I stay up all night reading these books, and I'm totally attached to them! I'm in Gryffindor!!!-Go Harry!!!

I am an avid Harry Potter fan and am thoroughly enjoying his journey and his maturing toward adulthood. I would like to recommend a book called "Eragon" by Chris Paolini for those that enjoy magic and adventure. KEEP READING and let your horizons know no bounds.

I love the books and find them so interesting and exciting to read! As a teacher I also see the interest and excitement children have for these books. They are great for both adults and kids! Great work J.K. Rowling!
Jo from Jersey
I love the books and love all the similarities in the real world. I grew up near Chepstow and also went to Exeter University. The books are great for both adults and children alike. Roll on book 7.
Pat Hughes from Tonteg
I am 74 years old and must say that I find the Harry Potter books the most exciting read for years! She must be one of the few writers to cater for every age group, and has opened the way for many people to relive their youth, and for many children to give their imagination a boost. Carry on J.K. you're doing fine.
KJ, Cardiff
I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. I finished book 2 last night and am desperate to find the rest. Brilliant, thanks JK
Siobhan Sanderson
Happy birthday to you. Its my 40th today and I was also born on the outskirts of Bristol and have lived in Chipping Sodbury. I now live in Belgium and everyone in my family loves your books.
Cheers!
Jacqueline from Canada
The novels are brilliant! I look forward to every one, and have just finished this last one (Half-Blood Prince) for the second time. Now I just need others around me to finish it so we can chat.
The books take you away to another place which is both fantastic and horrible at the same time.
Not sure if 'Bob from Canada' understands what fantasy is. Maybe he needs to do more reading and less criticising.
Melanye Buzby Winterbottom-Kentucky, USA
I am of Welsh heritage, though my family is 'newly' arrived in the States since the seventeenth century. I enjoyed your first book and am glad of your success, especially because of its needful timing in your life all those years ago. It's good to see someone get a break in life. BTW-what are YOU reading these days?
Rebecca from Canada
I just want to know if poor Madam Marsh ever learns how to apperate so she won't have to ride the Night Bus. Wonderful books. It took me a long time to come round to reading them, but I'm counting down to midnight, too.
Abby Way from Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, Canada
I got book 1 from a neighbour, and was hooked from page 2! Excellent series, I think it's all been said, so I'll leave it at that. You are a role model.
Lauren Wye from Bucks
I've seen adverts for the new film and
it looks gr8t! Of course i prefere the books but the films are as exciting!
I cant wait for the next book!!!!
Laura Crowe from Kansas, United States
Joanne, you're an inspiration. To persevere and do all that you've accomplished under such harsh conditions (being divorced and with no money and a young child), you're amazing! Your writing just flows, and no matter what age you are, the size and volume of the books don't seem to matter, you want to keep reading until you finish. Thank you for sharing your gift and God Bless you and yours!
Lauren Wye
I can't wait for the next book, how many more to come? Oh hope it's more than one!I'll be able to read for a long time!!!
Courtney Allen from Texas
Your books are great. I'm waiting for the sixth one to come out keep writing your great at it.
Kerri-Louise Isle of Mann
I think she is really cool and has a good imagination.
Nicholas Flamel in Dovetown
BOB FROM CANADA
"perspectives...understandings...ideals..purpose"
Of course, why should it be left to parents to provide these things for their children, if only all fiction books could deal with only real life issues. Instead of reading quality books like Potter, children would be reading "The Independent". Have a word with yourself Bob, these are books that nourish the mind, that encourage imagination and that provide an escape from the troubles of day to day life, surely, even in your world of ideals, this can only be a good thing.
Selen Tarim from Turkey
Harry Potter books...One of the best things in my life...I have to thank Rowling and her brilliant imagination!
James Elliott (Age 61) Milton Keynes
When I was at sea in the Merchant Navy my favourite book was The Odyssey (E V Reiu- Translation). Two years ago my totally illiterate son used to come home from school and vanish into his bedroom to read 'Me Harry Potter'. When I was misfortunate to have to spend 5 weeks in hospital I decided to see what this Harry Potter was all about! The books now take pride and place with my very battered and dog-eared Odyssey. Good on yer Jo, you're one smart Sheila (result of 4 years in Darwin).
G.Sudhir Reddy
She must be really brillant otherwise my son wouldn't crave so much for her writings. Please carry on Ms Rowling.
Eilidh Stewart from Inverness
Harry Potter is the best collection of books around. They are exciting and keep you in the story. Every book is different and there isn't a page that's boring and JKR is brill herself - keep up the good work!!!!!
shanice braiden southwick
I recon she is fab she is so cool she should stay like this 4eva.
T.J. Sanchez from Glenns Ferry
Your books are the best fantasy books I've ever read. The third one is my favorite overall though. You're my favorite author. Keep writing books, please!
Bob from Canada
Thought Rowlings was an author. If she is, why doesn't she write? Maybe she could write about the real world for a change. I put Harry Potter in a class with 'Sunny Stories' - very entertaining for nippers - but they get the same feelings when they play tiddlewinks. Couldn't a kid's author give nippers some perspectives, some ideals, some understandings, some purpose? Being brought up in Tutshill must be limiting. I suppose you have to create your imaginary castles 'cos there ain't much else. My advice is walk down the hill, cross the bridge and enter that other world. The kids you fed magic are growing up and many need a different diet.
Sandiie Carlsson
There is no way to express the way I feel about Harry Potter! It is so amazing, and magical that it almost makes me cry when I have to come back to reality, when I have to put the books down! I love them soooo much! My life would be boring, uneventful. and just....i dunno! i LOVE them sooo much! I don't care what anyone says, they are the best novels in the world and I'M the biggest fan!!!!!
Bob from Western Canada
My granddaughters and their mother have read all your books to date. Thank you for being the catalyst that has provided them with something that will provide endless enjoyment.
Carina from Estonia
I absolutely love Harry Potter. I don't care what others say, I think Harry Potter is one of the best books in the world!
Katie from Bournemouth
I love all the Harry Potter books. They take me to another world and I can hardly put it down! I'd just like to thank J.K Rowling very much for bringing these books onto my bookshelf.
Lianne Lloyd from Stretford, Manchester.
Is JK Rowling doing any more books after the Harry Potter novels? I am a devoted fan and have the most recent collection of Harry Potter books from The Philosopher's Stone to the Order of the Pheonix and eagerly await the sixth and seventh books.
Kit from Salem OR
I wouldn't have something to read if J.K. Rowling did't write these books! Thank you!
Victoria Bishop from Nova Scotia, Canada
I have to thank JK Rowling for her books because they were the best thing I have ever read.
Rischmie Jhari from Surinam, South America
It's brilliant the way she has made use of the biggest studio set - the human imagination.
Bethany Cook in Yeadon
Harry Potter is the best book I have read and I don't care what others say !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thomas from Blaenavon
I love your Harry Potter stories. My friends all say Harry Potter is rubbish. I dont care - it's better than Lord of the Rings.
What's your opinion of JK Rowling?
