I always try to buy my food at farmers' markets. I go to Brecon Market for meat - Pugh's the Butcher serves excellent quality meat. People travel from miles to buy meat there.

I am of Welsh descent, and would love to know if you have a recipe for Welsh Cakes! My Hungarian friend spent time in Cardiff and brought back tales of these cakes, and asked if I had an old family recipe. Unfortunately, I do not - family came here in the 1860's, but no recipes survive. Would you have a recipe? Then I can make my friend happy, and impress my relatives!

Great traditional stuff, but does anyone know of 'pice llaeth enwyn' sour milk cakes. I used to have these as a child, but the recipe is no longer available. HELP please.....

Tasmania Cheese, Victoria Bitter, French Bread, English Mustard ... made a great Welsh Rarebit lunch for a Taffy in Oz. Thank you for recipe ... and your magic site. Took my first driving test through Monmouth and the Monnow Bridge & I survived both, Love from home to yours.

I noted from your list of ingredients that you stated the mustard could be Welsh or French? I've never heard of Welsh mustard before, could you possibly tell me where I could buy some from as I am a keen mustard fan and would be interested to try the Welsh mustard, thanks.

A pint of lager is the way forward, forget wine, it's just expensive vinegar, lol. Real ale and beer is nice too - try Golden Glory, from the 'blue' supermarket in Waterton, it has a lovely refreshing peach and melon aroma - nice during the summer.

Will try your Welsh rarebit - sounds yum. I was born in Wales - my father used to make it for our supper.

I have traditionally done the 'white sauce' recipe. I am going to try to this and will let you know how it works out. I'm a Canadian with Welsh roots and very proud of it. I have a Welsh born & bred friend who expects me to be able to prepare the good stuff. Do you have a similar simple recipe for faggots? Years ago I found a traditional recipe, but my family wouldn't go near it and, I must confess, I could have made hockey pucks out of it...so what do Welsh folk make a faggot out of in this day and age?
