Place of birth: Cape Town, South Africa

Studied at: University of Cape Town

Born in Cape Town, Angela studied at the University in her home town. She also began her operatic career there with roles including Micaela Carmen, the title roles in Lucia di Lammermoor and The Merry Widow, and Violetta La traviata for Cape Town Opera.

Winner of several prizes and scholarships including the Standard Bank Young Artist Award 2002, Angela is now based in New York.

Angela sang the role of the Dew Fairy Hänsel und Gretel for the Metropolitan Opera, New York and has sung several roles for Wolf Trap Opera including Norina Don Pasquale and Caria Garbinati Vivo la Mamma (Donizetti). Angela sings Lucia for Palm Beach Opera later this year.

She relaxes by playing Scrabble and doing yoga.
