Have your say

Florence Raulin from Lyon (France)

Florence ROUX from Lyon
Markus, je t'aime beaucoup, comme un frère ! tu reviens chez moi quand tu veux ! surtout si tu chantes aussi fort et que ça fait raler mes voisins !!

Maria from Palermo
I hope that Markus will have a lot of success because. . he is a great artist and a beautiful person. . Markus you are wonderful

James Casola
I will be looking forward to hearing your recordings. Great work, thank you.

Lillie, Cardiff
It was a real honour to meet a singer as great as Markus. I was glad to know him on a close personal leavel as well as meeting spiritally.

Peter Teufel from Reinsberg, Austria
I am very happy, that Markus will sing now at the Festival "Mozart in Reinsberg". I think the "Zauberflöte" is wonderfull.

I. Rohde from Indianapolis, USA
I have only heard Markus once. It was at the Lakefestival Moerbisch in Austria. He was wonderful. His voice reminded me somewhat of the great baritone Robert Merrill. I hope that he gets to sing in the major houses, especially the Met.

Robert Medcraft - Cardiff Wales UK
A wonderful performance at the final. The Korngold! what a wonderful peice and sung so well. Good luck in what I'm sure will be a rewarding career

Dr.Donald Meirson
I could not understand his voice type,is he bariton or tenor. His voice is too light for this competition and I lissen all finalist singer his is the only I didint understand his voice.

Maurice Burgess from Sylva, NC
Markus, You have one of the most lovely baritone voices that I have ever heard and you are so expressive. I will keep my eyes on your career. Best of luck!

Alex Baker from Essex
Fantastic stage presence for not the largest baritone in the world. Brilliant Mozart and a deeply moving final note in Korngold. Well rounded tone and good communication. Was robbed in the final.

K. Berglund, Helsinki
Terribly good! Your voice is so full, so beautiful, warm and touching, yet ascetic and it lacks all that would already be too much. With you it is easy to get carried away safely, without fear of being led to a wrong place. Particularly stunned I was by Tshaikovsky (it just perplexed) ecause it requires madly much to be true and pure and to be free of overt emotions or romanticising. Just so beautiful. And it seems you have just such good understanding of the thing you sing, you sang Tschaikovsky like a Russian in the 19th century, Korngold like an Austrian (-: Unfortunately I didn't hear more, but look forward to. Thanks.

gerald hubbard london
I thought Markus had the depth of tone which will give him a lasting career if he does not force his voice I loved the Korngold wish they would perform it here

Juan Henríquez from Canary Islands
Wonderful perfomance of Korngold's!

Pamela West from Exeter
Another Dmitri Hvorostovsky!

Ian Pope from Croydon
A very impressive performance, and a potential finalist. Very good strong baritone, and one of the best so far in the competition. Exceptional in "Es ist genug", and ideal in Mozart. "Come paride" needs more polish, though.

Donald Knox-Richards from Liverpool
Markus Werba is a fine baritone, and he is young and handsome too. He will surely go a long way with his strong singing tone. Win lose or draw, this competition I feel, has set him on the road to a long and competitive singing career which I shall watch his name over the coming years with much interest.
