Twenty-five of the finest singers from all over the world at the start of their careers competed for the title BBC Singer of the World in Cardiff.
There were five concerts, taking place in St David's Hall, Cardiff on 22-26 June 2003. Five competitors took part in each, and at the end of the concert, one is declared the winner of that evening.
After the fifth concert, the five highest ranked singers go through to the Final - these are not necessarily the winners from each concert. See the full rules here.
