The BBC Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize was won by Ailish Tynan of Ireland
The Song Prize was given enhanced status with its own, freestanding competition - the BBC Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize, new in 2003.
Singers were given the chance to present a full programme of art song, heard by the Song Prize jury in the New Theatre, Cardiff.
It was not compulsory, though 22 out of the 25 singers chose to take part.
