The new Audience Prize gave you the chance to choose your favourite singer, and the Song Prize received a boost in its status

BBC Singer of the World in Cardiff Prize
The main prize, won by Tommi Hakala from Finland, was £10,000 plus engagements with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera.

BBC Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize
Competitors could submit a full programme of art song, rather than including some items in their overall programme as before. Most chose to do so - 22 out of the 25 - and performed their song programmes in the New Theatre, usually two days apart from their performance in the main competition.

The prize of £5,000, a Rosenblatt Recital at St John's Smith Square in London and membership of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists Scheme was awarded to Ailish Tynan from Ireland.

Audience Prize
The brand-new Audience Prize was won by Angela Marambio from Chile.

Worth £2,500, the Prize was entirely decided by the audience in St David's Hall and at home.

Voting opened once the last singer had sung in the preliminary concerts, and closed at 11 am on Sunday 29 June. You could cast your vote by phone, text and on this website,.

The audience could vote for any of the 25 competitors, whether they reached the Final or not, on the basis of their performance in the preliminary concerts in St David's Hall.

Wales Tourist Board
The Audience Prize was given in association with the Wales Tourist Board.

The Song Prize was given in association with the Rosenblatt Recital Series.
