The Business Doctor

Paul Thomas

Do businesses really need managers?

Troubleshooter Dr Paul Thomas doesn't think so. Paul believes managers just hold their organisations back - and he's on a mission to eradicate management in Wales.

He wants to see workers have the freedom to be innovative - and to have fun. So Paul works with private firms and public sector organisations, telling them the bosses shouldn't "command and control" their staff.

Instead, everyone should be working together. But can he convince the companies he visits that his theories can work in practice? Can he really get the bosses to loosen their grip on the reins and hand over control to the workers?

In The Business Doctor, a series of Wales@work specials, Nick Servini follows Paul on his journey.

On these pages, you can listen to the programmes in full and find out more about what's happened since to the companies who've been visited by Dr Thomas, with exclusive audio updates from Nick Servini.
