The latest update from the Rhod Gilbert show on BBC Radio Wales

Rhod Gilbert

It's Him Up North

In an effort to bring some fresh Northern air to the programme - and to save a ridiculous amount of driving - Rhod's bringing us the show from Newcastle this weekend, ably assisted by stand-up star and genuine Geordie Sarah Millican.

On the Saturday 7 March 2009 programme

LIVE FROM NEWCASTLE
At the time of writing we haven't actually seen the studio, so we may be broadcasting from inside one of BBC Newcastle's finest, acoustically perfect broom cupboards, but we'll carry on regardless with the same quota of banter, tangential comedy and great music you've come to expect. Rhod's up North for the weekend, and joining him show this week as guest co-presenter (with petrol prices still way above average we couldn't afford Corkey's mileage expenses) is award-winning stand-up star Sarah Millican, who regular listeners will recall joined Rhod at the wheel earlier in the year. Sarah's a local lady so no doubt her accent will become more and more Geordie as the show progresses, in that odd way it does when you're home.

What can we expect on the show?

Rhod's going to come up with some themed Newcastle features, and will want to hear yours.

The Yoghurt and Milk on Cereal debacle will no doubt continue, after Corkey's shock revelations last week inspired the show's first truly Global poll. Following a result that involved most of the rest of the planet, we'll see what Sarah thinks and you can get involved again.

We'll also be asking - can you get a good cup of tea abroad?
We've already had some answers to this most fundamental of questions - let us know what you think using the form below.

Red Nose Day is almost upon us, where Comic Relief are asking the great British public to "do something funny for money". Rhod and Sarah have both been getting involved in some of the special TV treats lined up for next Friday night, and will no doubt let us in on what to expect. You can find out more about what's taking place on the BBC Red Nose Day website.

All that plus lots of great music and we'll look at some of the funny and weird stories that have been in the news this week.
