Patrick was the presenter of Something Else, a Sunday morning talk show, and Called To Order.

He was a writer and broadcaster who reported on public life for over 40 years, much of it in various capacities for BBC Wales.

After a period as industrial editor of The Western Mail he spent 13 years as BBC Wales' political correspondent, followed by six years producing television documentaries for BBC Two and BBC Wales and six years as presenter of Good Evening Wales.

Patrick had been a newspaper columnist and a regular broadcaster on Radio 4 for more than two decades. He was the editor of two books on broadcasting and the author of three books on contemporary Wales.
