Huw Williams began his professional career as a singer song-writer. He toured and recorded as part of the duo Huw and Tony Williams, whose songs were covered by many other artists here in Britain, the USA and Europe.
Huw has said that whenever he is asked to do anything he always says yes, then worries about whether he is capable of doing it or not later. Which is no doubt why, during his career, he has written jingles for BBC Radio Wales, music for BBC Radio Four, had a paper round, worked in a nursery, taught clog dancing, written a book and choreographed a television show.
Huw is also an eisteddfod-winning step dancer who, in one of those rare moments of broadcasting history, performed one of his dance routines on BBC Radio Two.
As well as step dancing, Huw likes to use his feet to go walking, and combines this with a long-held fascination with railway lines. The resulting radio series Platform Shoes saw him picking his way through the disused railway lines of South Wales.
Apart from his work at Radio Wales he can also be heard on BBC Radio Four and is a regular contributor to television - including recently teaching champion hurdler Colin Jackson how to clog dance.
