WHY ARE BORED TEENAGERS TURNING TO DRINK DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS? The school holidays are well underway and according to a survey of 16 and 17 year-olds by the alcohol charity Drinkaware, nearly one in 10 young people drink at least once a week simply because they're bored. Some of the youngsters also say that if they were given 20 pounds to spend, more than one in 10 of them would rather spend the cash on booze than shopping or entertainment. Do you know youngsters who would rather drink than play sport or go to the movies? Is there enough for young people to do? Should we be surprised?
WHAT IS RICHARD BURTON'S ACTING LEGACY? 25 years ago today Richard Burton died in Switzerland aged 58. He was born in Pontyrhydyfen near Port Talbot and became one of the biggest names in Hollywood. But how good was he? He never won an Oscar but was nominated 7 times. Do you remember him more for his marriages to Elizabeth Taylor and his voice rather than the many movies that he starred in?
